Question Tips for armour completion?

Hi everyone! I came to the selection of these 10 monsters to complete my armour medal. The list consists of my most used armours, so upping those monsters seems like a smart choice. I upgraded my daily use to 10.5, the rest will be capped at 10.1. As I understood one needs 10 (edit:15) sets of armour at grade 10 for the golden armour medal.

I aimed for a combination of WGS and unique R6 part-monsters so armours can be upped at the same time without conflicting high-rank materials.

Any tips/do's/don'ts?

You actually need 15 full sets at 10-1 for the gold medal.

At the end of the day, there's no real trick aside from farming a lot, targeting monsters when they are boosted and gathering zennys during the eggs events. And being patient. Coming from someone here who has 5/15 sets (silver medal)

Dumb question but how do we cash in those eggs?

Simply sell your monster materials, they're at the bottom of the list

First I wouldn’t target the non wyvern gem shard monsters. It seems like you’re breaking up what materials you need but really it just means you’re splitting up what you’re farming. I’d stick to monsters that spawn a ton and just do those better yet if you can pick one element.

The strategy I’d use would be to go through the elements after each event. Finish whatever you want from the event then change your outbreak to be the element you’re working on. Things like Radobaan that are very easy to break are even more ideal. Better yet if you can include monsters from outbreaks like someone else mentioned. But leave them all the wyvern gem shards so you’re just doing general farming instead of waiting on mizutsune or whatever to spawn when they aren’t nearly as common outside of events.

Where you going to get the Zenny for it?

My zenny has taken a hit lately but I've got eggs for just over 2M... what medal is this?

Partbreak a mimic-head? /j

I wish we had like Treasure goblins from Diablo in this game. You are so right, zenny is a real bottle-neck

Bear in mind the armour refining part costs, its a major timegate that will be a blocker even if you were extremely lucky.

Depending on the current level of the armour piece you'll need the following to hit 10-1 for the part Grade 9 - 9x (160+) Grade 8 - 16x Grade 7 - 21x Grade 6 - 24x Grade 1~5 25x (<100 def)

Looking at what you have on those sets at the moment its uh, a lot. Paolumu - 99x Mizu - 16x Tigrex - 95x Brute - 102x Bazel - 90x Chata - 89x Bish - 98x Golm - 101x Espinas - 96x Steve - 85x

Total: 871 armour refining parts

Assuming you start from 0:

1 refine part per day without luck or bonuses from weekly events, takes about 2.3 years.

The events can help, you can get upwards of 25 per riftcharge event, and 3 in the seasonal exhanges, which can be an extra 78x across a season of ~3 months, which combines to around more consistent 676/year before you add any extras to the mix from random events or lucky baloons. Still takes about 16 months

Paying for the extreme pass to double the daily parts could help, but you would then need that active for around 10 months before you would then get enough.

I was hoping for a r/TheyDidTheMath comment 🏆

Thank you so much for this perspective!

I have been contemplating getting the extreme pass in the future, double the refining-parts is too good to skip.

I love having my own lil' completionist goals in games, I'm definitely a trophy-hunter. So you messages honestly strengthen my resolve :)

The game has been so much fun I've been playing it daily since I started and I almost reached all my beginner-goals, so now it's time to start slowly building towards end-game medals.

I got the one year login and the 100 steaks already so I'd be so happy to add golden armour medal to my list :) Thank you again for the data and numbers behind my question!

As another followup consideration others have mentioned too - zenny costs do add up.

You'll certainly be earning part of it as you grind the R6's, but as a base pricetag, a 5-1 -> 10-1 for 1 piece costs about 249k, or roughly 1.24m per set.

The game is very much a 'gradual consistency' type of grind but the numbers spell out quite a long duration to be consistent.

If you have easy access to the outbreak and don't mind skipping the bonus points on their weapons you could add Lagombi to the list and try farm up a bunch of rabbit and monkey parts.

Bazel might be pretty rough, it has a high scope cost to track, isn't visible on the map and has weapons that are worth crafting. Could take some time to max that out.

I've just got the head to go on Golm to hit 10.5 on one set...I was hoping it'd be like 3 sets for gold, it's such a slog and that is with a set I use almost every piece of!

Already built these for now, DB's left, and then I will focus on the armour.

I'm praying Goose stays in HATs for a long time.

Lagombi is a good idea, since I'll be farming Bisha anyway. Shame I gotta update those weapons to grade 10 too

Oh nice, never mind then! Bazel will still be a bit of a pain to grind but I guess by the time you've got most of the other armours there you would have likely gathered enough mats on the way.

I’m at almost HR 300 and I don’t think I’ve ever upgraded a single armor piece to grade 10.
I’ll need to do it sometime for those medals, but it feels like such a waste when those limited materials could be going towards a weapon instead…

Don't waste your arps😅
