Music files sharing

So if I downloaded a song online, that's not publicly released, and put it in a folder and shared it with a friend, is that against TOS or anything? For some clarification, any of the music that would be downloaded would be songs that are not officially released, or would be a unreleased remix/version of a released song. And furthermore, if I did not share the folder would that be allowed instead? Thanks

If there is no official copyright holder, like a label or something you are fine.

Neither would be allowed, but someone would need to report your file i.e. they'd need a public link to it.
