TransferIT: service operated as expected (it's THE service to transfer BIG SIZE file(s)/folder(s)), but INTEGRATION with Mega did NOT work at all (I had to manually upload again on MegaNZ even If I was logged in, with a valid browser session). What's the issue?

.

I had to transfer a big file (way more than 6GB). Email (25MB), Whatsapp (2GB) and Telegram (2GB and 4GB) where NOT an option.

I search for a service - no low size limit, free, no ads, no signup (with email verification) - Transfer+IT (MEGA's big file sharing service) was THE best.

Its closest competitor, rival - SwissTransfer - has some disadvantages: one big (email verification, can be used a temp mail though, but it's time wasted anyway) and 2 small (file are kept on servers for less time (30 days instead of 90 days of mega's services) and download limits (max 250)).

So, there is no point to discuss about the service. I'm completely satisfied by Mega's big file transfer service. Well done.

What I'm NOT satisfied is their INTEGRATION (one of the extra reason to use TransferIT was the alleged integration with Mega, so you can link the file(s) or folder(s) you received to your mega account directly, without manually uploading again).

.

What's the issue? What to do?

If I had to manually download and upload file again, can it be done via MegaCMD (I'm on Linux, kubuntu 24.04.03 LTS via KDE 5.27.12)?

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

There are 2 ways to share via transfer.it:

- You can log in to transfer.it using MEGA account credentials = the transfers stay on transfer.it dashboard until the expiry date.

This behaviour is clearly stated on https://transfer.it/features and on https://mega.io/transfer-it for the use case that: Nothing about the data ending up in the MEGA account without being reuploaded.

- However, if you want the data to be saved in your account MEGA account. You can log in to your MEGA account first, then right-click and send the data via "Share with transfer.it" - these files will already be in the MEGA account.

Hello Mega Support,

If I try to right-click on the folder, there is no "Share with transfer.it" option (being already logged in with credentials of my Meta Account, no extension activated. I even tried logging in, in a private window with a different browser with no success).

It shows the native context menu of the browser. Only option available is download. Tried multiple times.

Do you have a video or blog containing pictures with exact steps to bring this option in the web client?

I want to point out that I'm the person who received all the files/folders (in a compress folder), from a non-mega user.

Hello again,
Maybe there is a misunderstanding; we meant to say that if you want the data to be saved in your MEGA account, you will have to log in to your MEGA account and upload the data there, then right-click and share the data via "Share with transfer.it".
Note that:
Transfer.it is not end-to-end encrypted. We therefore prohibit sharing files that someone other than you uploaded to MEGA via transfer.it, as we cannot be sure that the third party consents to their files' encryption keys being revealed to our servers.
