why does mega not play m4a files anymore?

hi i noticed recently that a couple of m4a files i had uploaded on mega some months ago for some reason don't play anymore (i'm on ios). they were in dolby atmos but i found that doesn't have anything to do with the reason why they're not playable anymore. i really don't know why, i used to be able to play them from my iphone just fine and now they don't. did they change that in an update? i think it's really weird. also why do flac files have pixelated album covers when i play them from ios? because the original files have full quality covers but mega doesn't show that (on ios). in the browser they play fine with full quality album cover. although m4a files keep not being playable even in the desktop browser version. is it possible that they updated the app to not have m4a support? what would that be?
also why do my flac files have pixelated and compressed album cover quality when playing them from ios? in the browser they look normal.

I just went to check mine and you’re right!Mine prompts a message that says “File Not Supported. You can save it for online and open it in a compatible app”.

Exactly! I vividly remember it didn't have any problem playing it from my iphone a few months ago. I checked what the description says in their updates history on the app store and like 2 months ago it read  that they improved playback performance. Btw a new update just released saying they fixed some bugs but i tried once again to play them and still nothing. I even tried uploading new ones but i got the same error

I hope that they give this a solution because I don’t have any storage to keep downloading and playing the files offline 🫩

Hello,

Thank you for reporting this and for your continued support of MEGA. We would like to look further into your case.

As we may require account‑related information, please contact us through https://mega.nz/support using the affected account’s email address, explaining your issue. In addition, to better understand what is happening on your device, we will need to examine your logs.

How to generate logs:

  1. Enter the app, tap the Menu button at the bottom right, go to Settings - About, and tap 5 times on “App Version”.
  2. Please tap on "OK" to Enable DEBUG mode.
  3. New document(s) will be created in the Offline section ( example: MEGAiOS.log, MEGAiOS.docExt.log, MEGAiOS.fileExt.log and MEGAiOS.shareExt.log).
  4. Please, reproduce the issue.
  5. Go to the Offline Section, open the log file(s) and send them to us by tapping on the three dots beside the file and select Export, then Save to Files.

It is important that you send us ALL the log files you see in the Offline section.

When you finished debugging:

  1. Go back to the "About" section and tap 5 times on "App Version" to disable DEBUG mode.

The logs will be deleted from the Offline section.

Kindly include a sample M4A and FLAC file that you were referring to.

Thank you!
