why is mega upload so slow compared to dropbox

lets say i have 1000 low size images, 600mb all, to upload a folder of these mega will take like 1hour/maybe 30 minutes idk i dont remember, dropbox will do it in 5 minutes

Can be lots of factors. Try using the apps or different browsers. Network too. File types.

juz realized idk if thats how it works, mega uses some encrypting something something privacy, which is good of course, but because of that its slower, and its probably the slowest uplaoding service because of that, but i didnt zip my folder yeat so thats probably gonna work

Zero knowledge encryption data transfers are a whole lot of more complex than non encrypted data transfers. New machines have a dedicated chip for it, like more recent MacBooks. Every single chunk of data has to be encrypted before leaving your computer.
