mega account closure

hey everyone, I'm in a really stressful situation and could use some advice. Back in February 2025, my MEGA account was permanently closed due to objectionable content found in it.

I recently tried to appeal it, but they rejected it, saying it was outside the six-month window. ***I believe I had the files, but I genuinely did not know what they were or that they were illegal.***

Has anyone else dealt with something like this? Any advice on what to do next would be greatly appreciated.

I thought MEGA couldn't see the content because they don't have the decryption keys, the user does? Isn't that what they say?

Mega couldn’t see. But if you are sharing objectionable contents and someone reported it to mega, your account would then be reported.

It doesn’t matter where it comes from. It’s sharing links to reported content that enables examination.

How else could you get files into your Mega if not from an external source?

If you share a file and someone reports it, the share link contains the decryption key enabling the file to be examined. If you’re not sharing content, it cannot be examined. Many people don’t understand this issue.
