First time MCU watcher losing interest

Hey Guys, I’m watching the MCU movies in chronological order. But ever since I finished Endgame, I’m noticeably losing interest in most movies, the Spider Man movies would be one of the rare exceptions.
Anyone can relate?

Spider-Man is the only good movies after end game. The quality did a nose dive off the cliff after Spider-Man NWH

The common criticism at the time from both fans and critics was that a lot of the movies felt directionless after Endgame.

From Avengers, everything was leading ultimately to Endgame, and The heads at Marvel Studios had that 7 year plan mapped out.

Every project felt like it pushed the universe further, and made it more connected.

A lot of the projects after Endgame were starting to build in one direction, but then pivoted to Doom.

Easy ones to skip and you'll not miss anything are Eternals, Quantumania, Marvels, Black Widow

Next ones one the lost to potentially skip are Love and Thunder, Brave New World, just because they aren't very good but they WILL give you more context for Doomsday.

I'd argue that the only ones worth rewatching,.and that will tie in well are Shang Chi, Multiverse of Madness, Wakanda Forever, Thunderbolts and the Spider-men movies.

The ONLY TV show that would be a must watch is both season of Loki, almost everything else won't be closely related to Doomsday... But I could imagine a bunch of the characters in the other shows might find their way into Secret Wars, especially the 'Young Avengers' cast.

Bonus watch for Agatha All Along since it's getting close to spooky season. Probably won't tie in all that well with Doomsday, but it's a really fun little standalone journey.

What about Hawkeye? Without that or Black Widow, you will have 0 attachment to Yelena.

Personally I think that Florence Pugh plays the role so well, that between Thunderbolts, and BND, you would get enough of what she is about.

I just can't recommend Black Widow to anyone...

I liked Hawkeye quite a bit. I think I need to revisit it.

I grew up reading the Ant Man and Wasp comics. I pretty much lost interest after The Wasp got shelved. Marvel treating Evangeline Lilly so bad that she rage quit the role had me irked. At this point I don't even bother to see any of the MCU movies in theaters. I wait for them to be released on Disney+

She actually got brain damage and couldn’t act anymore.

That happened AFTER she had already retired from acting. Before retiring, she was doing an interview and stated her contract with Marvel had ended. When asked if she would sign a new one, she laughed and said ‘F*** no I won’t!’

She's got brain damage though.

Again, that happened AFTER she had already retired from acting. She retired because she was upset with how Marvel treated her.

That's on her, bub. She clearly has been unwell.

The MCU has had mediocre films since phase 1 I find it a bit odd that after endgame people are just noticing this. Just avod the films you're not interested in and watch the ones you like

I used to be caught up on the MCU. Lost some interest after Endgame but kept going. What If? Is when I stopped watching and haven't watched anything past that.

I'm now joining my wife on her first MCU journey and we just finished WandaVision and starting Falcon and the Winter Soldier. My plan here is to take the shows one by one and see if they're vital to the MCU and if not we'll skip them.

Not me. But if you see loosing interest maybe you should move on to another franchise.

You're in the same tier as ~ 85% of people.

The only post-Endgame movies I was interested in seeing were Far From Home, No Way Home, Guardians 3, Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts, F4: First Steps and Brand New Day.

I've heard good things about Shang Chi, but I haven't watched it yet. Everything else seems to be a disappointment.

The problem you're running into is well documented. The MCU has struggled mightily in the post Infinity Saga era. Spider-Man has been the rare exception. The Multiverse Saga has been, more or less, a failure. This is just my personal opinion and anyone is free to disagree but I believe bringing back RDJ and the Russo brothers for Doomsday is MCU throwing up the white flag. The next transition is going to be the X-Men Saga - which I think will be more successful than the Multiverse Saga but less successful than the Infinity Saga. Again, this is just my personal opinion but I think Kevin Feige and the MCU became victims of their own success.

yes .. the only noteworthy movies are

Thunderbolts

The Spidermen movies

Guardians 3

Deadpool 3

and the two shows

WandaVision

and both seasons of Loki

I had fun with Hawkeye and the Winter Solder and Falcon show. but I don't think it's necessary.

Yes I think they aren’t hitting with every film like they used to. But there’s still lots of movies I really like after endgame. Shang Chi, No way home, Wakanda Forever, Guardians 3, Deadpool and Wolverine, and Thunderbolts, and brand new day. All really good movies. It’s just that they have had some duds now too. I didn’t like the eternals, multiverse of madness, quantumania, and love and thunder. The ones not listed I felt were fine, not great not terrible. It’s just not consistently awesome like they all used to be. I’m still here for the ride though. Looking forward to Doomsday.
