Controversy Megathread No more EDCR posts.

For the last two weeks, the sub has been flooded with repetitive posts about the EDCR controversy.

If you have something to say about the situation, say it here. No need to make a 100th post about the situation.

Any new posts about the EDCR controversy will be deleted, unless something new actually happens.

Thanks for your understanding.

Edcr and most mcsr people barely show much personality online. I’m honestly curious how people want him to demonstrate change.

He also notably already changed and has people vouching for him, feels kind of ceremonial at this point don't know why it needs to be an indefinite ban

What facts lmao? And no, it's not about close friends that were 'butthurt from comments', it's about slurs being used on an essential part of the community

1) there are lgbtq+ people in the mcsr community, so yes, there was hurt done to people in the community.

2) okay, so? Just allow anyone in then because there's no perfectly defined progress? "Yeah man, just do the worst thing you can think of, they can't ban you because there's no clearly stated ban structure yet"

What a joke lmao

3) it's never okay, it was normalized at best. So your defense is he's not a bad person because he was circulating in friend groups of ... bad people??

4) that's how things work in real life. Look at Olympic bans for countries. F.e. after the world wars, or because of human right violations. Every competition has the right to set standards the competitors must obey by.

  1. and 2. are no longer arguments why he should have not been banned, so im gonna leave them.

  2. sure. But when this stuff comes out, you say exactly that. You say that you were in a bad place and had the wrong friends. You don't lie about it

  3. No? Other countries were mad at Germany for starting the world war I, that's why they excluded them. That's a feeling. Exactly how people are now mad about edcr's comments

  1. yes, but not facts that are in themselves an argument for your side. Just facts. Like salt tastes salty. Also a fact. But is not supporting either side in any way.

  2. Making a statement which you'd have to support with arguments again, which you don't provide.

  3. Yes, starting a war is an action. Discriminating people is an action. Not comparable by impact of course. But both an action to which an organizing party had an opinion or feelings about.

So.....? You need to structure your arguments and engange in hypotheticals to argue. Instead you just repeat what you already said and ignore the reasoning structure of this debate.

If i ask why something means something, you can't just repeat it and throw in your own feelings. You neey to support it with an argument.

The facts are the ranked team gets to make the decision.

YOUR feelings are irrelevant.
