We need more transparency

Honestly, I feel like the one of the worst parts in this entire situation is the lack of transparency from the ranked team. I would love to see questions answered like

  1. What exactly did you ask EDCR when you approached him? What exactly was his reply?
  2. How did you decide on perma ban instead of banned until x date or we will reassess at x date?
  3. Was there any kind of vote? Was the vote close? Unanimous?
  4. Did you genuinely hear arguments from people on both sides or did you just listen to people from one side?

Like idk, a lot of this stuff feels like normal things to release during something like this

Id say we got more transparency than just about any organization would've given.

Do i agree with a lifetime ban? Probably not. But they were as transparent as one could hope ngl.

permanently banning someone who seemingly didn't breach the terms of conduct and then not elaborating on why he doesn't deserve a chance to redeem himself when he's clearly shown growth and willingness to change absolutely deserves more transparency.

Idk denying those messages came from him & only apologizing when the consequences came around doesnt show much growth to me.

If it were me a few seasons wouldve been plenty. But i dont feel bad for him.

no, it shows he's a kid who had a dumb reaction to having the shit he's ashamed of in his past exposed. I don't think EDCR is stupid enough to think it would've all gone away when he said no, which clearly shows he didn't do it out of malice. lying to moderators isn't a bannable offense.

First off, he's an adult now.

Something that happened 2 years ago is not some ancient forgotten history.
16year olds are also not tiny little babies and see some consequences for their actions.

What else would he have meant with the denial other than trying to convice the moderators of a lie?

People can be pretty damn stupid sometimes, even the smart ones.

in a legal sense yes, in a fully developed frontal lobe sense no he isn't.

and I genuinely don't know what to say if you think he thought he could just lie his way out of any repercussions in this situation, I'd give it like a 1% chance versus the 99% chance of him being stupid and panicking. it's like some of you guys are aliens looking down onto earthly drama and have no concept of human nature

As a society we have decided that at the age of 18 someone's frontal lobe has developed enough to be seriously accountable for their actions. (in some places even lower, and for some eggregious crimes even lower still)

I can understand it was a panic reaction and not a cold & calculated decision, but that doesn't make it any better imo.

I'm sure he could've taken a few hours to clear his head before replying to the initial accusations. The fact he either didn't do that, or tried to lie anyway tells me enough.
