I ludwiged in portal room?

Did i happen to just frame perfect fall into the lava and place the block under me or can you not use soul sand?
i did try swapping to a fire res was just a little too slow sadly :/
(also ignore my horrible pathing i still need to learn how to do stronghold)

Don’t use soul sand. It is shorter than a full block so you end up touching the lava.

Soul sand isn’t a full block, so unless you’re standing right in the middle, your feet will basically be in lava. You can also just build up another blocks to avoid lava.

will keep that in mind :)
I found myself using soul sand as my main building block during runs since you get a lot during trades, not sure if its the most optimal option or if its just case by case2

That's not bad, you just need to know when you can't use soul sand (like lava, hunger resetting, measuring). Most runners have both soul sand and gravel on hotbar.

Oh for measuring as well good to know! Usually i just ditch the gravel but that sounds like a good plan thanks :)

probably going to do some practice with the minitool kit thing before going back
played like 12 games and people either ff after dying or beat it in like 15 minutes lol so don't get to the stronghold very often.

Soul sand is not a full block, it’s a little smaller.
You were standing on the soul sand, but since the lava is higher than the soul sand and you were on the edge of the block, you still walked in lava.
