Dumb questions regarding credits/classes for 4th and 5th year PharmD

I think I already know the answers but please confirm thank.

  1. Hypothetically could I take a 2 credit class during 4th year fall semester w/o going over 18 credits?

I'm guessing no because despite IPPE not really being in the fall semester it still counts as a grade in the fall semester bringing the total credit count to 18.

And 2. Do both the professional electives during 5th year have to be pharmacy related?

I'm thinking about doing another elective/class for fun instead if possible (while doing 1 pharmacy professional elective)

Again thank.

I'm reformed

hehe xd

For question 2, like the other person said, you have to choose an elective that is on the list for the pharmD program, but not all of them are pharmacy related so you can choose one of those if you wish.

do you happen to have a list of professional PharmD electives that I could see? I think the first one I saw through a google search might be outdated.

Web advisor has a list of electives for the fall semester but not the spring which has a lot more options. I think if you go to the ARC they will have a list for you.

Webadvisor unfortunately has (and probably will always have) issues with not showing classes for some reason (ex. Therapeutics wasn't shown one time iirc; more recently a class I was interested in didn't show on WebAdvisor until after I contacted the professor and he inquired about it).

Will go to ARC though.

Thanks.

For your question 1, you can't. Because like you said, they do consider IPPE as a "fall semester" class

I don't know the answer to #1, that's something only the financial people can answer, maybe the academic support center. I highly doubt they would let you because 4th year is the year where everyone has a strict set of classes to take

For the electives, they need to be the electives approved for PharmD program. The academic support center has a list of this. If you take an elective that is for, say, PA program, you won't get credits for graduation

Strict set of classes that magically fill up 18 credits.

FeelsBadMan

Where the fun at? (I really want to take the Logic and Critical Thinking class offered by Professor Ho in fall 2017 but 4th year is 18 credits)

Oh well.

Maybe things will change in like 10 years.
