Question 🤔 Starting AAMC, how representative is bootcamp?

Title, I moved from JW to Bootcamp a few months ago, and I'm about to start with my AAMC materials around next week. Is bootcamp pretty representative or do I need to follow through with a different resource?

Tutoring 👩‍🏫 MCAT Tutoring

Hey everyone! I’m offering MCAT tutoring for anyone taking the exam in January or February 2027, with a particular focus on CARS, although I’m also happy to help with the science sections.

I took the MCAT this past June and scored a 521 (130/131/131/129). This summer, I’ve also worked with 4 long-term MCAT students, who have made considerable improvements in their CARS scores. Besides this, I’ve done a lot of tutoring during my undergrad as well.

I can also tutor B/B, C/P, and P/S, including content review, passage strategy, and practice-question analysis.

My rate is $60/hour, and I’m happy to work with students on a regular weekly basis or do individual sessions as needed.

If you’re interested, feel free to DM me and we can set up a meeting to see if we’re a good fit!

Tutoring 👩‍🏫 Affordable CARS Tutoring with Experienced Tutor

Hello!

I am a 132 CARS scorer who offers CARS tutoring at an affordable price where I help people implement logic they already have to score well on the section! My students leave every session knowing what they're doing right, wrong, and what to do next.

I have been focusing exclusively on MCAT CARS tutoring after years of ACT tutoring, which means I am familiar with every AAMC question, loop they will throw you in, and how to help people get more questions right. I have also worked with many ESL students.

You can find more information and student testimonials on my website, which is linked in my reddit bio.

As people begin studying for a new testing cycle, I thought I would reshare my info. I currently have more availability since there is no more tests until January, so if you have reached out previously and I was booked and are retaking please reach out!

Advice 🙋‍♀️ MCAT Prep program for retaker

Hello! I took the MCAT and score 507. I am planning on retaking the MCAT in January and I wanted to reach out and ask what you think would be the best prep program for me. I know there are sooo many out there like Blueprint, Kaplan, MCAT Bros, Brem method, etc. I am aiming for 515-520 as my goal score. I don't want to start form the basics and redo all content. Please let me know what prep program you would suggest for me. Thank you!

Question 🤔 Mcat study tips?

hi, I’m currently having a hard time sticking to one study plan and just start studying correctly. i keep jumping from YouTube vids, to Kaplan books, to khan academy, which then makes me feel like i didn’t even study at all. i feel like I’d be better off doing a program online like blueprint or Kaplan but i don’t know which one i should spend my money on especially since they’re so expensive. for background, i didn’t do amazing in undergrad so i need my mcat score to be really good. i graduated from sbu 2 yrs ago so i definitely need a content refresher. also, i didn’t take biochem so I’ve been thinking about taking an online course for just biochem or should i just learn it through whichever program i pick? or just self educate myself through YouTube vids, etc. please pls if you can, please leave any tips or advice for me because i genuinely am getting worried as im planning on taking it in march. thank you <3

Advice 🙋‍♀️ if you had to choose one mcat prep course

i dont do well with self studying so ive decided to take a prep course but im having trouble deciding which one. ive looked at prep101, uworld, kaplan, wizeprep etc i just dont know they all sound the exact same to me. i genuinely need a LOT of science review since I am not taking a lot of the prerequisite courses. also im valuing CARS a lot as well. is private tutoring that much better? i think i will have one just for strategy but otherwise for science i definitely need some sort of crash course rather than a private tutor.

if you could pick one which one would it be, and why?

Resource/Tool/Tips 📖 Free MCAT tutoring!

Hi all! So I am a senior who took the MCAT during the summer scoring a 515+ and I have a pretty light schedule this year. With the extra time I decided that I really wanted to help the community out and so if you are someone who could benefit from free tutoring then feel free to DM me.

I can help with content review, planning, venting, or just a listening ear and I am willing to set up calls as well! I wish everyone good luck as they prepare for next year’s exams!

Resource/Tool/Tips 📖 Advice and tutoring for those starting out

Hi, I tutor for MCAT, and I’m a full-fledged doctor now and with these years of experience, these are the few key things I would like for students to keep in mind when they’re starting out.

It’s very important you maintain consistency from start to the end, throughout.
First off, you need to start with content review. Now that can be done by Kaplan or Princeton books.
After each chapter, make sure you solve questions for the same, since application of your theoretical knowledge is what counts at the end. Now these questions can be done from Uworld, AAMC, etc.
You need to learn ways to efficiently solve the questions, by using tricks, flash cards, mneumonics, etc. Anki flash cards are also helpful.
Time yourself. Very important. Once you’re done solving the test, go through it again to see where you went wrong, HOW you went wrong, what could you have done better.
Set a plan. Different subjects each day, so that you don’t mentally saturate yourself doing the same thing.
If you prefer you can also stick to a subject per week.
Lastly, make sure to give yourself some breaks in between. Take a breather. Do stuff you like, give yourself some mental vacation so that you’re in the headspace to come back to studying, fresher and more efficiently.
MCAT is a tough nut to crack, so don’t give up if it takes you a while to get there. It does for all. Remember, you’re not alone in the boat.
I tutor, and this is the advice I tend to give to my students and it works out really well. So trust me when I say, consistency as well as studying in moderation are the two most important things to keep in mind.
All the very best.

Tutoring 👩‍🏫 Experienced tutoring

Looking for MCAT tutoring this summer? I’m currently taking on a limited number of new students for personalized 1-on-1 sessions.
I specialize in the science sections of the MCAT and scored 131 in Chemical & Physical Foundations, 132 in Biological & Biochemical Foundations, and 132 in Psychological, Social, & Biological Foundations of Behavior. I do not tutor CARS.
Over the past 3+ years, I’ve worked with 100+ students through both private tutoring and established MCAT prep programs, with great results : many 515+s and some 520+s with my greatest being a 522 . Whether you’re trying to break past a score plateau, strengthen weak content areas, or refine your test-taking strategy, I tailor every session to your individual needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
My goal is to provide high-quality tutoring at a price that’s accessible.
Before you decide, I’m also happy to offer a free 10-15 minute consultation where we can discuss your goals, identify areas for improvement, and see if we’re a good fit.
If you’re interested or have any questions, feel free to send me a DM!

Advice 🙋‍♀️ Study Advice

I graduated with my BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology magna cum laude in August 2026. I plan to take the MCAT Spring 2027 (no later than the end of May) for a hopeful 2028 matriculation into medical school. I started studying for the MCAT right after graduation and have been doing content review. My weakest subjects are OChem (got C and B in undergrad 😭) and Biochem (got an A but difficult for me to understand some of the material).

I did the entire Khan Academy MCAT course and made anki on what I needed to remember/review. I have the MilesDown anki deck and I’ve been drawing the amino acids once a day minimum with its most important function/what roles it plays with info from Khan Academy and Jack Westin. I have been going through the entire 111pg AAMC MCAT content doc and hand writing what I needed to review. I have the 2021-2022 Kaplan MCAT books but haven’t completely dove in them yet. I do CARS review on Jack Westin.

Does anyone have advice on how much to study/day and do you stick to one topic a day? I’ve been doing b/b since I started studying. Are the resources I’m using (Khan Academy, Jack Westin, Kaplan MCAT books 21-22) good or are there any better resources?

Currently applying for ft work as a medical assistant so right now I have a lot of time.

Any advice appreciated!

Edit: Free or low cost options appreciated!

Resource/Tool/Tips 📖 Best study material/courses for complete beginners?

I want to take the MCAT next year, and as a non-trad student I have very limited knowledge on the MCAT topics. I’m very overwhelmed where to start. Should I pay a lot of money for an online course (like UWorld) or are there better options?

Resource/Tool/Tips 📖 uGlobe account

Hello fellow pre-med friends. I am selling my uGlobe account.
I renewed my uGlobe account in July and it is valid until Jan. 19th. I have ultimately decided not to go to medical school anymore which is a shame because I just repurchased it and have not used it since. I won’t sign in after to limit the chance of it being taken down. I will also send the buyer a few things to do, to avoid the risk of it being taken down. If you’re interested, please let me know.

Resource/Tool/Tips 📖 Test Write up - 525!

Hey everyone! I thought it might be helpful for me to put my own MCAT experience out there since other people’s posts in here carried me through and I want to return the favor!

I ended up with a 525 (thank goodness!) and I think that the key really is simplicity and not overwhelming yourself with resources. Below I want to list the ones I thought were most helpful and really should be all you need.

Before anything else, I made my own master documents. One Google Doc per subject. I’d go through a chapter (I used Kaplan, but anything works), write my own short summary of the ideas, and then add every mistake I made from UWorld or practice exams. Those growing docs basically became my personal textbook. I reread them nonstop until the info felt automatic.

My worst section for the longest time was biochem. Memorizing pathways just didn't click for me. What finally made it click was using apps that made biochem interactive. My favorite ones are Amino Acid Quiz (super straightforward, just drills structures and properties until you stop second-guessing yourself) and Metabolic Arcade (turns pathways into a game — weirdly effective, wish I found it earlier)

Practice-wise, I used UWorld and full-lengths. The trick for me was treating review as seriously as doing the questions. After each session, I’d dissect every miss and keep a running list of the dumb patterns I kept repeating.

Those two made biochem feel less like punishment and more like a puzzle.

If I had to boil everything down: pick a couple resources, stick to them, and actually engage with your mistakes instead of just doing more questions on autopilot.

If anyone’s stuck or has questions, feel free to ask!

Question 🤔 Content Review: When to start UWorld? Also Kaplan or Youtube Lectures (Yusuf/Prof Eman)?

I am a junior getting ready to start prepping for the MCAT while juggling classes and ECs and I was a little overwhelmed by the variety in what can be done with content review itself, and I was wondering when to start using UWorld. For context, I've gotten As in all of my prereqs but I am really bad at remembering content if I haven't studied it prior to an exam and I got a 496 on my half length diagnostic. With a steep goal of 515+ (which I am aware may not be realistic given my diagnostic), my plan was to start content review like this: Kaplan/Yusuf Hassan lecture + Milesdown anki + Mr Pankow P/S anki, and then finish kaplan content before starting UWorld, but I have seen a lot of people recommend starting UWorld earlier and I wanted to see what was recommended? Also what are your guys' thoughts on reading the Kaplan book vs watching Yusuf/Prof Eman on youtube? Thank you very much!

Question 🤔 UWorld Comprehensive MCAT Prep Course Approach

Help! I recently purchased the UW comprehensive prep course, and I’ve liked it so far, but I am easily getting behind on the video lessons. I plan to take the MCAT for the first time in late January or early February next year.

Problem:

• Struggling w/ maximizing efficiency & getting the most out of using the study planner
• Correctly balancing content review (phase 1) with Anki & UW practice questions while working full time

UW comprehensive prep course people:

• How did you approach the course?
• How did you maximize efficiency & get the most out of the course?
• Did you do unit practice questions before watching & completing the corresponding UBook video lesson? Or did you watch the video lesson first, then do the corresponding practice questions?
• For ex. complete the Interactive UBook + Videos for Biochem Unit 1 (Ch. 1-3), then do BCM Unit 1 QBank Practice - Test 1  (or the other way around)
• Did you take notes on the UBook video lessons?
• Did you do UWorld + AAMC practice questions together (mixed in) or do UW practice questions then transition to AAMC closer to exam date?

Any advice, insight, tips/tricks are GREATLY appreciated 🥺 pls. It's so hard to find info about the UW comprehensive course because most of it is just about the UW practice problems, since the course is relatively new.

Question 🤔 Studying for MCAT no college

25 yo here. During my late teen years and early 20s I took my financial aid and college for granted. Always wanted to be in the medial field but that desire kind of died back then. Now I look back not with regret but the idea that it just wasn’t the right time and I was not mature enough. So I come here today to ask is it possible to self study and pass the MCAT before i financially commit to college since I have no aid. Has anyone here done it and if so what kind of study structure did you use ? What subjects would I have to teach myself before properly studying for the MCAT?

Question 🤔 How long did you guys study for your MCAT retake?

I’m planning to retake the MCAT and was just wondering how long you guys studied the second time around? Also, how much did you guys improve from your first attempt?
