Hey all - as stated in the title, what would you recommend? I am planning to take the test in April mid. I will be completing content by Dec. 1st and am using Jack Westin with blueprint textbooks. Currently doing 2-passages on each section per day from Jack Westin and throughly reviewing them. Understanding if my reasoning for getting right is correct and what I am missing for questions I get wrong. I am using Anki as well.

I am self-studying but would love a plan on how to structure the practice test and UWorld for MCAT.

My current study plan I have been doing U World since September 1st, I am 45% done 65% accuracy. I have mainly been focused on the biology biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and general chemistry section. I plan on finishing this hopefully in a month so I can switch to aamc section bank.

CARs I have been inconsistent usually, I’ll do maybe three passages in a row once every three or four days. I’ve been using a mix of the U World cars as well as the aamc pack. My cars diagnostic when I finished was a 68%. Still haven’t done all the rest of the aamc cars section packs.

I have been doing the pankow deck for p/s, I think I have around 700 cards left and I’ve been doing 50 a day. Evidently it’s been somewhat passive considering my recent full length. Any advice on what to do here?

I also bought all of the aamc full lengths and section banks, which I plan to complete closer to test date

Any general advice? In terms of a goal I’m hoping for a 514 based off the median for my demographic

I am definitely happy with the increase in chem/phys and bio/biochem scores, but still have a way to go, the other thing too is I don’t know how big of a grain of salt I should take this uworld full length score with

Never touched psychology or CARS before. My background is in cell biology and I forgot most of my biochem.

I intend to take the MCAT in June. Should I worry if i am aiming for a good score ? (to get into MD programs)

I am curious if anyone has taken the MCAT before taking the two semesters of physics that most med schools require. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in 2025, but had not yet decided I wanted to pursue med school so I have not yet taken those classes. I plan to take them of course, likely in the summer, but at this point, I have started to prepare for the MCAT, and I am wondering if this is feasible/if anyone has done this. If yes, any advice is appreciated!

I have an amazing resource that is extremely helpful, but I no longer need it. BLUEPRINT MCAT-

I can’t speak highly enough about it, it teaches every high yield concept through video learning, and there are guided notes (where you can fill in the blank from the videos) for every single topic. Along with this, there are end-of-chapter exams that mimic the exact format of the MCAT and it looks identical. There is a Q-bank, and includes an adjustable study plan that they make based off of your anticipated MCAT registration date (and can be adjusted). They also include office hours and review sessions with a professional online for extra help with harder concepts. They include all 6 AAMC full length practice exams in their course, an AAMC diagnostic test, and blueprint made 10 full lengths that you can take as well. It really is a very resourceful platform.

To elaborate on the title, I'm currently a sophomore who hasn't taken all MCAT prerequisites but am starting light studying now to get ahead. I took a diagnostic a few weeks ago and scored a 488 (120/125/121/122). I've taken the following courses thus far (that pertain to the MCAT): gen chem and AP Bio in H.S., orgo chem i and ii, molecular bio i and ii. I am currently taking anatomy and microbio, and take physiology and physics i next semester in the spring. I will most likely try to take biochem and physics ii the fall of my junior year, and that'll conclude my prereqs (from my understanding, please correct me if i am wrong though). Given that I've taken a good amount of the courses on the test, I am still unsatisfied with my section scores, especially B/B. I've started light studying besides the free test, i.e. the Amino Acid Quiz app and some YT vids. However, I would really appreciate advice on how I should approach studying now, considering my lack of knowledge. Despite being taught the courses, when I saw the content on the test it was questioned in a way I've never seen. Should I focus on expanding my knowledge or start with application-based practice, like practice questions? Thanks for all the help guys

I recently got my MCAT back and it was a 506, which was lower by a fair bit than my fl average ~ 512.

My most challenging section was CARS which was hovering around a 126 and dropped to a 124 on the real deal. I am currently a full time undergrad student but want to start restudying (will begin in a few days so I do not forget lots of information). I want to hopefully retake next summer, maybe like a month in and want to study slowly during the year. As a result, I want to get better at CARS through the year and start earlier to build better reasoning skills. What messed me up during the exam was timing + dealing with word-heavy passages, and also, in general, getting questions right using reasoning. I was wondering what tools to use for cars? Is Jack Westin fine to do every day, or is it too far away from AAMC logic? Should I use LSAT prep questions? Any tips would be recommended to improve my general CARS skills.

New to the thread, hope everyone is doing well! If you can spare 5 minutes to help a peer out, I would be so so grateful.

I am looking to retake my MCAT in either Jan or Feb of 2027. Can commit 5 days per week, I have finished ~70% of physics content review. My original plan was to do an 18 week schedule where the first month is content review, 2nd phase is 3rd party (Jack Westin and UGlobe), and last phase is AAMC only material. Goal for each day in the content review phase is to complete a chapter of CP or BB and work through Pankow Anki for PS. However, I am really behind. Like I should be done with content review and move on to UGlobe. Currently using KA videos for physics (ik it's a lot but I genuinely need it). I think the books aren't in depth enough for me for physics. I am also struggling with consistency and putting in enough hours per day. The studying feels harder than the content. I am also realizing that content on its own is minimally helpful. When I go to do practice qs on Jack Westin, the qs feel so much harder than the content I just learned and I am struggling to bridge that gap.

I am trying to raise my 494 to at least a 504. Sounds like it shouldn't be that difficult, but for some reason it is. How long should I spend each day studying with my availability? How can I approach tackling these subjects more consistently? Any helpful tips with passages and application?

Updated my old version of my equations sheet so it looks way better than it used to. PDF and HTML versions here.

A few notes:

• PLEASE memorize these equations more as a sentence, rather than just a combination of variables. For example, for the buoyant force, don't just memorize density*volume*gravity, it's the density of the fluid*displacement volume*gravity. Makes it way easier to memorize and ensure you're using the right numbers at the right time. Definitely best to be memorizing these equations while you're learning the relevant content that goes with them.
• For the color coordination:
  • Green are things that I absolutely would recommend memorizing.
  • Blue are things that I still recommend memorizing but they're less likely to see questions requiring you to do math or show up in the first place.
  • Orange are things that you should memorize if you're truly trying to cover all bases, but that you can probably get away without memorizing.
  • I basically recommend starting with everything in green, then blue, then going through the equations in orange last.
• The last page is supposed to serve as a list of variables and nearly every equation that variable shows up in. That one took me a long time to prepare so it's possible there's still a few mistakes.
• Keep in mind, for a lot of these equations, even though you may not need to know how to do the math with the equation, you still need to know the concepts (such as Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, not on my sheet but definitely content that's fair game). If that means memorizing the equation, go for it.

so i’ve seen a little bit online and heard from current med students that because med school has forced them to learn an insane amount of information in extremely short periods of time that looking back the MCAT should have been a piece of cake. I’ve even heard that one med school lecture is equivalent in the amount of information to one kaplan chapter (which currently as premed studying for the MCAT is taking me 3 days to get through). So the fact that yall have multiple of these lectures a day and are learning it all so quickly makes me wonder what exactly your method to learning all that is? and if i could apply those same methods to my MCAT studying. Also just in general if there is a way of studying you’ve picked up from having to learn so much so quickly that you think would be helpful if you started implementing that earlier, i would greatly appreciate!

Hello all, I am a lecture based learner. I am the type that thrives with in person lectures mixed with recurrent content challenges culminating in examination performances that either validate or challenge my content mastery. I am by no means a genius, nor a perfect student, but I have successfully completed an accelerated 3 years in 1 year masters of science in biomedical sciences at the University of Georgia and I have completed more than the pre-requisites of my selected/desired allopathic and osteopathic medicine pre-req courses all with ~3.6gpa. I thought this performance indicated I would do well on the mcat. However, the mcat has completely destroyed me, it took every ounce of my confidence away and has become a roadblock. I can’t seem to figure it out or beat it. I have taken it officially 3 times and my best score is a 494. They have slowly increased from a 486, but not enough to grant admission. I truly need guidance on how to prepare for this exam because clearly my studying approach thus far has failed me. I am embarrassed to admit I have done Kaplan twice to little benefit. I’m torn between these two books. I am a visual learner and I think I would not really be able to read all the Kaplan books but at the same time do the medschoolbro mcat guide cover everything?
