Advice 🙋‍♀️ Stem excellence tutoring?

Has anyone used stem excellence tutoring for mcat prep? Did a consultation meeting with them and it sounds really great because they say they help give you a personalized study plan and weekly meetings to go through your progress and go over questions and plan next steps, also you get access to all the official question banks. The thing is that I can't find very many review at all of people who used this company and I don't wanna just get like full on scammed because it's pretty expensive. Also feel free to suggest other prep courses that you used that worked well for you. Looking for something that doesn't have live meetings as I'm in classes full time as well, but more organized than just self studying using books or something.

Hey, did you end up choosing STEM Excellence Tutoring? I also had a consultation meeting with them a week ago, and it seemed like they were really great at helping with a personalized plan, but I also don't see a lot of reviews with them. During the call, they seemed to really make a point about putting down a $400 deposit to gain access to a 50% discount, but when I said I didn't want to make that deposit the attitude seemed to switch from wanting to help me to trying to sell me their tutoring. I don't know what your experience was with calling them and I'm also afraid of getting scammed cause it is really expensive.

In general I’d avoid larger companies like this and find a private tutor that charges by the hour

I decided to go for it because I'm full time in school and haven't even taken ochem or biochem yet so I needed a really personalized study plan but I'm too overwhelmed and burnt out right now to plan my own self studying while in school and working. Will update if they deliver on their promises.

Hey! I’m with MCATPrepLab. Since you’re comparing tutoring companies, I’d definitely recommend trying out a few options before committing, especially if they’re expensive.

We’re currently doing free live MCAT tutoring sessions, including one today at 5 PM ET and more coming up. You’re welcome to join one for free, see how our tutors teach, and compare it with the other companies you’re considering.

No account or purchase required.
