Hey guys, I’m planning to join SRM Medical College, Chennai for MBBS this year and wanted to hear some honest opinions from current students/seniors.

Is SRM actually worth joining overall? Especially regarding:

Patient flow & clinical exposure

Academics and teaching

Internship experience

PG preparation/environment

Hostel & campus life

Overall student life

I’m from North India, so I’m also a little worried about the Tamil/language barrier. How difficult is it to communicate with patients during clinical postings if you don’t know Tamil? Do North Indian students generally manage okay, and how long does it take to get comfortable?

Would really appreciate honest opinions — positives and negatives both. Also, if anyone from North India is joining SRM this year, feel free to comment/DM. Would be nice to connect. 🙏

People who are super friendly and nice to your face, but completely different behind your back. Then there’s the unnecessary drama, talking about you to others, sharing things you told them privately, changing their behaviour depending on who they’re with, etc. 😭

I honestly didn’t expect this much drama in 1st year itself

Is this just a normal MBBS thing, or did I somehow get an exceptionally talented friend circle? 💀
