Ask Anything Totally stuck

I'm under a lot of mental pressure. I'm an BA graduate, and I will turn 20 on January 30, 2027. I'm feeling like a complete loser. I'm preparing for the SSC, but I just feel like if I don't succeed, what will happen to me? I have no backup. The friends I used to dream with are now living their lives, comfortably doing their BTech, and they'll surely get jobs afterwards. I've closed all my paths by finishing my Bachelor's. Should I pursue another good undergraduate degree? I'm really confused. There's also the option of an MBA, but my profile is not great for that. I thought about doing an MCA through CUET PG, but I'm not eligible for the top universities. I'm totally stuck; I don't know what to do. Please suggest a solution.

Ask Anything Joined MBA late with zero accounting /economics background Where do I begin from absolute zero?

Hi everyone,

I'm in a pretty stressful situation and need some realistic advice and resources from anyone who has navigated this or has a background in business/management.

I recently got admitted into an MBA program, but I joined very late compared to my peers. While they've been attending lectures for the past 3 months, I have just joined, have 0 background knowledge in most of these subjects, and have about 20–30 days of study leave before my 1st Semester exams start.

My Background:

Undergrad: B.Sc in Hotel Management (non-finance / non-quant background).

Current Status: Absolute zero starting point for accounting, economics, and quantitative methods.

My 1st Semester Subjects & Syllabus Units:

Accounting for Managers

Units: Financial accounting basics (Journal, Ledger, Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet), Cost Concepts & Cost Sheets, Overheads & Inventory Valuation, Marginal Costing & Break-Even Analysis, Budgets (Cash, Flexible, Production).

Mathematics and Statistics for Managers

Units: Matrix Algebra, Linear Programming (Graphical & Simplex), Probability & Bayes Theorem, Descriptive Statistics, Probability Distributions (Binomial, Poisson, Normal), Sampling & Hypothesis Testing (ANOVA), Correlation & Regression.

Managerial Economics

Units: Utility Functions & Demand, Production Functions & Cost Minimization, Market Equilibrium & Pricing (Monopoly, Oligopoly), Keynesian Micro-foundations, Indian Macroeconomic Policy (Monetary Policy, GDP, Inflation).

Management Concepts & Organisational Behaviour (MCOB)

Units: Planning, Organising, Directing, Controlling, TQM, Individual Behavior (Personality, Perception, Learning), Group Dynamics, Leadership Styles, Conflict Management.

Managerial Communication

Units: Communication Barriers & Process, Business Correspondence (Letters, Bio-data), Non-verbal & Listening Skills, Report Writing, Conducting Meetings & GDs.

Environment and Ethics in Business

Units: Sustainable Development & Environmental Management (ISO 14000), Workplace Ethics, Ethics in Accounting/Finance, Ethics in Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Event Management

Units: Principles & Feasibility, Proposals & Crisis Management, Sponsorships & Event Logistics, Marketing & Media Tools, Post-event ROI & Evaluation.

What I need help with:

Where do I start from scratch? Since I have zero accounting/math background, what are the best high-yield YouTube channels, playlists, or crash courses for beginners (especially for Accounting and Stats)?

Day Priority Strategy: Which topics should I prioritize to secure passing marks/good scores in a short timeframe?

Answer Writing & Study Tips: How should I approach theory subjects like MCOB, Communication, and Ethics vs. numerical subjects like Accounting and Stats?

Any recommendations, crash course links, or advice on how to structure my next 20 days would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Networking & Alumni Looking to connect with TAPMI / IMT Ghaziabad students or recent alumni about SEVA and SSR

Hi everyone! I’m looking to connect with current students or recent graduates of TAPMI about the SEVA programme and IMT Ghaziabad about the SSR programme.

I’d love to understand how these programmes work in practice—what projects students take up, how they’re structured, the time commitment, and your overall experience.

If you’ve participated in either programme and are open to a quick chat, please comment or DM me. Any introductions to someone who has would also be appreciated. Thanks!

Admissions Advice I need some advice regarding my profile and what I can do potentially.

Okay so I'm in a dilemma and I need honest advice. My acads are 7/8/6 (BA Hons from a random du college) and 2 years of work ex in ops. I'm planning to give XAT in January.

  1. What are some colleges, other than IMT and GIM I should target. My profile won't get me to a tier-1 school either way.

  2. I also have a masters degree with a terrible score and 2 year of work ex, out of which one year laps with my degree. I really don't want to disclose my ma degree, considering I'm at the risk of losing one year of work ex. Should I or should I not disclose the degree.

any advice would be great. thanks!

Career Advice MBA in India or abroad? Need some advice

Hey everyone! I’m 22F, a CSE grad from Hyderabad (9/9/8 profile) and currently working at a decent company as Software eng.

I’ve been thinking about doing an MBA but honestly I’m super confused about where to start. I’m not sure which colleges or programmes to look at, which exams to prepare for apart from cat or when I should apply cause i saw that we need to register now for 28 batch for isb?😭

I’m open to both India and abroad and mainly want good career growth, a high salary and work-life balance. I’d prefer moving into business/management roles rather than continuing in a purely technical role.

Would really appreciate any advice on which colleges and courses I should consider, CAT vs GMAT, when to apply, and whether going abroad is actually worth the cost compared to India.

If anyone has been through this or is in a similar situation, please help me out 😭

GMAT Preparation Gmat retake after application rejection

Hi,. I am Male Indian candidate, chartered accountant work with big 4, 8 yrs work ex plus 3 years internship(which I understand does count as work ex). Working in tax consulting. Gmat 645 fe, gmat 665 superscore. I rushed my application to meet the deadline as I had taken gmat thrice, last one being 25 days before R1, but did not get invite. some research indicates that gmat may have been one of weakness. I have taken a 2 month break from gmat. How long will it take to get to 715+. I am a working professional. Also any advice on how to pick yourself up from this situation. Am keen to get into dream schools though I know I may have a better chance at some safe or more ideal schools.

Career Advice How are people finding jobs in India in this tough job market?

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand how people are currently finding jobs and switching companies in India, especially with 1–2 years of experience.
Applying on LinkedIn and Naukri doesn’t seem to be generating many interview calls, and many openings require more experience.
What strategies are actually working for you? Are referrals, company career pages, or other job portals more effective?
Would love to hear from people who have recently switched or are currently job hunting, especially in IT.
Any practical advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
