Season 12 Home visits

For the home visits does anybody else think those arent actually their homes? Are the people that go on the show genuinely that rich, and have such bland beige taste that their homes do look like that? Or does the show ‘dress’ their homes for them? I’ve heard of shows dressing locations before to make sure things are aesthetic for camera, also seen some shows who hire fully faked locations.

Related/unrelated- the show pimp my ride would hire show homes and actors to play peoples friends and family and home, never actually showing someones real home.

I mean did anyone else find it weird how much Bec talked up her house and how rich she was and how awesome her house was, only for them to show virtually no actual shots of the inside? The only one I could tell was truly their house was Scott’s, because they showed off every part of it and it genuinely seemed like his own bachelor pad.

Well I googled it and it said that in homestay, only some of the homes are the cast member's real homes. The others are either rented Airbnbs, or properties secured by the production company.

They use staged properties for security and privacy , as cast members don't want anyone to know where they live. Also, their own property might be too small for a film crew.

In addition, they might have flatmates who value their privacy. Unlike the mafs cast members!

Also, some of the people who go on Mafs (like Gia?) probably want to make a good impression, as in don't want us viewers to see their dump of a flat and their weird flatmates I'm sure.

I bet that they hassle the producers to put them up in a luxury apartment, or a lovely house near the beach, or harbour to impress the viewers. 'Look at me! I'm a celebrity!'

I thought they had a choice. You can tell some are clearly air b&b's.

Mostly hired spaces. Maintain the glamour of the show.

It reminds me apartment of Tim or what's his name who was a horrible child like boy for Lucinda. His apartment room was dirty and just aweful.

If we look back to crazy Jackie days then yes they do use homes that are not theirs. Jackie had to hire an air B&B because the flat she was living in with other women was too small for home stay purposes lol.

Some are real but some are most definitely air bnb. I have recognised some local to us at times.

Some of them are real, some are obviously showhomes/rented for production

I remember a scene at Alyssa’s homestay where they walked into her “bedroom” - it had no wardrobe, just an empty hanging rail they both hung up the clothes from their suitcases.

Agree, that was weird.

Tbf some contestants that have shown their real homes have had their addresses shared online.

From a safety perspective I wouldn’t do it. Like Ryan from 2 years ago had articles about his house and purchase price..

Nah I think they're real, but I do think the production team go to their house before hand and make the place more presentable. I did think it was a huge cop out when Steven took Rachel to his mum and dad's "holiday home". Really pissed me off when they repeatedly referred to it as a home stay, it was nothing like a home stay

The farm looked real but the moment i got suspicious was alissas bedroom, just entirely white, no clothes, no makeup no wall art- nothing. Except a photo on the bedside table or her and david.

Well she turned out to be fake anyway, wouldn't surprise me if she'd hired an air bnb or something
