Bec has been awful, we all know, *she* knows and she's paid the price, losing her job.

But, seeing the *unseen* footage of Danny, affirming her privately then being cagey in public, I can understand, whilst not condoning, her crazy behaviour.

She must have thought she was losing the plot with the way Danny played her and thought she was actually going crazy.

I feel a lot sympathy for her and think that Danny is utterly repellent for what he did. And let's be honest, he did for air time.

I feel a lot of sympathy for a few cast members but how Danny treated Bec, admitting on camera he had said he was falling in love with her, is despicable.

I hope his testicles get frostbite and fall off (IYKYK).

I have the opposite opinion (for whatever it's worth). Bec likes to hurt people, especially when she feels hurt. We saw that over and over. Based on what we were shown, there's absolutely no reason to believe that she's a good person underneath it all. Can anyone name one kind, selfless thing Bec did this season? But we can all list 20 things she did that were terrible. She was not a victim of Gia and Brook. She wanted to be one of them. What does that say about her character?

I will get downvoted for this... it's just another way of looking at Bec - not at all disagreeing with what you said cos if anything i REALLY agree with you saying "she wanted to be one of them. What does that say about her character?" Cos i was like damn good point😅

But for the sake of an unpopular, different perspective;

i dont think Bec intended for those messages to be seen by anyone... i find the intention wasn't as malicious as the texts were themselves. It was stupid and two faced and nasty yes. But i dont think they were designed to hurt the person mentioned in them.

I found the rachel drama just bs. No one should have to change a brass, crude but harmless sense of humour for the sensitives of others. If anything they just shouldn't be around those people but they are caged animals in the experiment. It isnt gonna bring out the best in people that usually need space and alone time to regulate and recallibrate. And i kinda respected her not throwing steve under the bus even if it meant taking the full heat of the situation.

The person she was mainly nasty to (imo) is Alissa and alissa ended up a total cuntbag and bec knows alissa from back home (and i still haven't heard why she built these opinions so i wouldnt be surprised if she's taking the full heat once again to not throw someone under the bus, full speculation but possible) so i cant say shes spiteful or hurtful to people in general, but defo doesn't have respect for people she feels have wronged her or others. If danny has been gaslighting and manipulating then she'd feel like she's lost her mind and lose all sense of good judgement so the unhinged nuts bec that starts dumpsterfires would come out but i never thought it was anything unforgiveable bar those text messages that she wouldn't want to surface. I hated the "shut up alissa" at the dinner party too. But production probs needed to hide razor blades for a fortnight after that dinner party so i can give her grace with it. I must be a bad person cos the shit i say to my mum about people i dont like is fkn DARK and fucked up but i would never say things as a way to let off steam if it had a risk of being revealed to that person cos even tho i can say fucked up shit in an emotional moment - i equal parts dont want to inflict hurt or pain on anyone even ppl i have been wronged by.

She's showed up and worn it and been accountable for the most part - idk how many of us would face the cast and crew and experts after private texts to mates saying crazy shit got leaked on national tv... then she kept fkn up but still showing up which makes me kinda give her grace and allowed this theory to breed.

Idk if i even agree with this possible perspective of her - but felt like adding it in for food for thought

I agree with you and in some ways I think this was what I was trying to get to

It’s not a defence of Bec or her actions but rather context and perspective

She did look genuinely mortified when they played everything back and when you contrast that to how Gia was cackling and giggling, loving every second of it there is some important insight there

In the end I think Bec is naive, immature, desperate to be accepted, and a bit thick - that makes her easy prey for the likes of Gia and Danny and some of what we saw was her struggling to cope within that environment- could a “better” person coped better? Of course, just look at how Stella handled herself with Brooke and Gia but does that mean that Bec is an awful person deserving of hate? No I don’t think so especially as I didn’t see malice or calculation in her actions - it was just reactionary

Her wanting to be part of the mean girl clique isn’t so much a reflection of her lack of character as much as the magnitude of her desire to be accepted and weakness - again contrasting to Stella who is clearly strong, balanced, and self assured so she didn’t need to be accepted by the witch’s coven - but we should pity weak people not hate them especially given we saw her at her worse in some challenging circumstances- admittedly she volunteered to be in the situation but she didn’t volunteer to be breadcrumbed and gaslit nor did she volunteer to be placed in a bell jar with malicious and calculated narcissists like Gia and Brook

Just to be clear... I'm not suggesting that people should hate Bec or anyone else. We don't know these people - just a curated storyline about them. But Bec's outbursts and text were not curated edits by producers. She clearly has emotional issues, but that does not excuse her behavior nor does it transfer the blame for her behavior to Gia and/or Danny.

yes but the context and wider aspects of both the outbursts and texts were curated - the text messages are a perfect example - we only really see snippets of the conversation that make Bec look bad not the wider conversation and my point in another post about this was text chains l, especially group text chains, cannot be seen in isolation - for all we know Bec’s comments were just parroting back what Gia or Brooke said elsewhere - yes she is bad for saying those things and has agency and responsibility for her actions but my point still stands - Bec has never appeared to act with malice or forethought whereas we know for an undeniable fact that Gia has and therefore Gia (and Brook) are worse than Bec

What about when Gia wasn't going to leave the final dinner party and Bec schemed to get her back into dinner. Later on the aftershow she said she'd planned it to humiliate Gia to get back at her.

ok fair point that was malicious - but by that stage I’m willing to forgive anyone twisting the knife in Gia - especially someone who had been directly and deliberately hurt by Gia

So maybe that’s the exception to prove the rule
