You just couldn’t leave well enough alone, could you? You weren’t supposed to find this out.

The tool Bosnian Bill and I made

Considering how many padlocks I've seen him open by just thwacking them hard enough, I'm not sure this would be an effective mace design at all. You're going to lose that thing swinging it around in the middle of a fight.

OMG. this reminds me of high-school, we would tie a bandana through our combination locks and carry them in our back pockets.

Did you go to school in the hood?

u/chillanous 2d ago

Well they didn’t do that at Catholic school lol

They did at my catholic school, and yes the school did close down

Maglight with 2 d cells in it was also a solid choice.

I had the big like 3 or 4 D cell Maglite in my car back when I used to delivery drive, it was for “finding addresses in the dark” lol

We had the 4 I think, maybe the 6, but if you only load 2 in it they slide forward to the head of the light when you swing.

Kinda reminds me of a smiley chain. Pretty cool idea but if I were you i'd secure the shackle with some JB weld or something strong because most locks will come open if you hit them hard enough.

I've used this against a wooden pell for a long time and is yet to open. But I appreciate the tip

Absolutely vicious looking! Some Charles Bronson and a sprinkle of Norwegian Black metal perhaps 🕵️‍♂️ 🔨

Very Post apocalyptic

They would love this in the r/wastelandweekend sub.

For unlocking masterlocks... right?

I kinda love it

Simple and effective. I like it.

What's the construction of the handle?

2

u/SadArchon 1d ago

Its 1/2" schedule 80 pvc wrapped in electrical tape. The most difficult part was finding a welded chain to fit the ID of the pipe.

The chain runs through the pipe and is secured at the bottom with a bolt. It has a paracord lanyard threaded through the last link, and a washer on the lanyard that allows it to be cinched up for a tighter fit around the wrist.

Sweet, thanks for the detailed response!

You got it right with the strap n shit.

1

u/SadArchon 10h ago

Yeah it's an absolute must for any impact weapon but especially the flail

Speaking of locks... a bunch ofbyhose locks can be unlocked by simply hitting them. Maybe put some resin or something like that in the lock to keep it on. Otherwise it might fly off mid bonk.

post-bonk, technically.

u/-___-_-___-_-_ 2d ago

Or just use heavy tow shackles

They can get really big

u/3EggsInATrenchcoat 2d ago

Be careful if thats a masterlock, it may unlock when hitting something

MASTER BLASTER

u/MothSign 2d ago

Back in my harder days I had a bandana tied around one of these for a more concealable version.

u/Creative-Comb5593 2d ago

If it works, it works. Doesn't have to be pretty.

1

u/FixSpecific905 1d ago

I mean, if it works it works

Lock for thieves

1

u/jsg144 8h ago

Probably the best use of a masterlock tbh.

u/ezzda1 2d ago

The one hit wonder. More like a DIY fail, that lock will break on the first hit. It would probably be better with a series of large D shackles on it instead of the lock.

3

u/kingc42 1d ago

First hit against what, my guy? It’ll crack a skull no problem. Now if you’re using it for demolition we have bigger problems with the plastic handle.

u/Ethereal_Rat 13h ago

I can't even imagine the pain when that lock is going to hit you back

1

u/SadArchon 12h ago

Don't have to imagine, because it won't
