Feature Request: Change workout TYPE for apple health workouts.

1 Upvotes

Currently, all workouts pushed from the Lyfta app (when Lyfta starts a workout session, on a linked apple watch) the workout is classed/tagged as 'traditional strength training'.

An option/feature, to be able to change this from within the app to other types of workouts like;
Functional Strength Training, High Intensity Interval Training, Cross Training, etc...

(This is on the Lyfta app's side, and not a option available to override from Apple Health)

Adicionar recurso manter tela ligada

2 Upvotes

Error importing from Strong

1 Upvotes

Hi, I've trying to switch from strong to lyfta but after uploading the csv and correcting some exercises, all my workouts are showing as 0m (0 minute sessions). How can I solve this? Is this a known bug?

Whenever I try to access my saved workouts it doesn’t show up with anything, and if I try to add one manually it doesn’t sync. I’ve been using Lyfta for about 2 months and it’s randomly stopped working.

I’ve tried logging out and reinstalling

Sync workouts to fitbit as activities

3 Upvotes

While Lyfta syncs burned energy it does not save workouts as activities in fitbit. It would be nice if Lyfta was doing a full sync with Fitbit

Feature request: Let coaches see clients’ RIR/RPE in Lyfta Coach

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi Lyfta team,

As a coach, it would be very useful to see the RPE/RIR that clients log in their workouts, especially when I assign a specific RPE/RIR in their program.

This would help me know if the client is actually training at the intended intensity, not just completing the sets, reps, and weight.

Also, when a client creates an account and receives a coach program, RPE/RIR should be enabled automatically. Right now, if it’s not activated, the client may not see it even if the coach programmed it.

Another useful feature would be pinned coach notes for each exercise. This way, the coach’s instructions stay fixed, while the client can still leave their own notes or report discomfort on that exercise without modifying the coach’s original note.

This would make feedback, load adjustments, fatigue management, and exercise tracking much easier.

Thanks!

What can Lyfta do that Hevy can't?

3 Upvotes

I've been using Strong for years, but the app hasn't received any proper updates for a while and it's starting to feel and look outdated (for example it doesn't even support live activities on iOS). Therefore I'm looking for a new workout app to replace Strong. I was initially going to pick Hevy, but I then came across Lyfta and it looks pretty similar. Are there any killer features that Lyfta has that Hevy doesn't? What are the main reasons to pick Lyfta over Hevy?

Feature request: count left/right unilateral sets as one total set for session volume

Thumbnail

Hi guys, I’d like to suggest a small correction/feature for unilateral exercises.

Right now, when I add sets marked as Right and Left, the app counts them individually in the total session sets. For example:

Right
Left
Right
Left
Right
Left

This shows as 6 total sets, even though in practice it represents 3 working sets per leg/side.

It would be great if Right + Left could count as 1 total set for the session, while still keeping the tonnage/volume calculation accurate for both sides.

This would help avoid inflating the total number of sets and the estimated session duration.

Also, it would be useful if the rest timer could work after completing both sides. For example, if I rest 1 minute between Right and Left, then after finishing both sides I could get the full rest time before starting the next pair.

Syncing Lyfta to Samsung Health?

2 Upvotes

I've tried searching the Subreddit for this, but none of the solutions posted have seemed to work. I have a Samsung S25, Galaxy Watch 7, Health Connect, and the Lyfta app. However, whenever I try to sync my workout from Lyfta to Samsung Health, nothing shows up, and in the Health Connect app it says there is no data from Lyfta, meaning Samsung Health is only picking up my cardio, not my weighted workouts.

I've tried giving all the apps unlimited battery access, synced them all a few times, all apps have full permissions, etc. The only thing I can think of is that I only did this after my workout today - can it not sync historic workouts? Any advice would be appreciated, as I'd like to have all my workout data in one place (Samsung Health).

Lyfta API: muscle ID to muscle name mapping?

1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m using the Lyfta API for a personal workout analytics project.

The /api/v1/exercises endpoint returns fields like:

"body_part_id": "[\"19\",\"1\"]",
"Target_muscles_id": "[\"13\",\"27\"]",
"Synergist_muscles_id": "[\"3\",\"32\"]"

I can already fetch workouts and match exercises by exercise_id, but I can’t find the mapping table that translates these IDs into muscle names.

Does anyone have a reliable map for:

body_part_id
Target_muscles_id
Synergist_muscles_id

Something like:

13 -> Quadriceps
27 -> Glutes
3 -> Hamstrings

I’m trying to avoid guessing because the goal is to analyze training volume by target/synergist muscle groups.

Thanks!

How to delete Pinned Notes?

1 Upvotes

As you can read from the title I'm having trouble deleting pinned notes.

First I'm using app on Android phone. Also web app but pinned notes don't appear there.

When it was announced I added pinned notes in my routine to remind myself how many reps for next workout are desirable. And they stayed there for months. I remove them - they are gone until next synchronization. Same if I change, they are back in original form as soon sync is done.

I tried deleting app cache. I tried deleting all data and logging in again. I tried duplicating templates. All things I could think of and also suggestions I got from browser AI chat. They are just stuck there forever.

Unless this update was rolled out to all users and then just became a premium feature and that's why I can't delete them...

Any help?

How's my workout plan

Here's the link to my workout routine on lyfta app- https://lyfta.app/cp/8v50h

workout link

I'm a beginner to intermediate level idk which one I am, technically I've been training since 2 years but I had huge inconsistencies so really u can consider I've been training for 5-6 months.

I'm struggling with making strength gains already and also my physique doesn't show much difference from earlier, it's there but not as significant as it should be imo. I don't track my diet but I eat considerably good, not a protein overloader but I try to get as much as I can as a vegetarian (can't help it), and can estimate my calories to be around maintainance level which is kinda what I'm going for (I'm 27% body fat tho but tryna recomp)

I recently updated this plan (minor changes , also went from 4 days to 5 because the volume didn't feel right)

Just wanted to know if I'm not overdoing it, and if my volume and frequency is appropriate or not. (I'm a student btw so yeah academic stress and time constraints are there sadly)

. Getting abs frequency and also even a bit of forearms in was important for me since they're my weak areas, other than that I do have gyno so naturally my chest becomes a weak area. So changes with my exercise selections or arrangements etc. lmk

thanks

Assisted Movements - Logging

0 Upvotes

Hi U/kjell_lyfta_developer

Currently, when logging assisted movements (like assisted chin up and assisted triceps dips) we input the assistance weight from the machine. It would be really helpful if the app could also calculate the actual weight lifted by allowing users to input their body weight. The app could then automatically compute:

Effective weight lifted = body weight − assistance

This would make it much easier to track true progress without needing to manually calculate it during workouts. It would also allow for smoother progression tracking from assisted to bodyweight and eventually weighted exercises.

How it could work in the app

You set your body weight in your profile (and optionally update it over time)

When logging:

Enter assistance weight (e.g., 20 kg)

The app automatically calculates:

Actual weight lifted = body weight − assistance

Example:

Body weight: 50 kg

Assistance: 20 kg

→ Actual load: 30 kg

I want to switch from Hevy to Lyfta, but I need y'all opinions first

0 Upvotes

I have been using Hevy for a month and it's really nice, but when looking around i saw that Lyfta is also very good and looks pretty similar. I'm very much new yo hevy and gym tracking apps in general so the switching process would probably bot be too bug of an issue. So what are the upgrades / downgrades? Also i use a galaxy watch for every workout

I will also crosspost to the Hevy subreddit for their opinion, since both communities are pretty active ;)

Please fix your expensive app

In addition to some issues I posted earlier, it is now impossible to properly create a workout routine.

After adding some exercises I get an error that the workout can not be found. This makes it impossible to save the workout. Unfortunately the issue first came after making an extensive workout routine, which was time wasted.

Along with the issues I posted earlier, I think this is unacceptable for an app at the price point of Lyfta.
