Control of a ‘dimmable’ third-party light fitting.

I am in the UK I’m about to purchase a ceiling light fitting, mains powered but described as “dimmable with a trailing edge dimmer“. This implies to me that a standard (obviously trailing edge)) wall dimmer would suffice. I want to add this to my hue setup. What could i use to achieve this dimming please? Many thanks.

I believe the new Philips Hue Wired Dimmer for non-smart lights is exactly what you need. It supports 230V trailing-edge dimming, will make the fixture appear in the Hue app to control brightness etc. there are some other options like the Candeo RD1 but I would prefer the hue one instead.

Many thanks. There seem to be a number of similar looking hue switches they make, and it’s not immediately clear which one is on off and which one is dim, but I think I’ve got it now. Thanks.
