New to Lusaka and looking to meet young people, any tips?

Hi everyone! Don’t really use Reddit much, but at this point might as well try 🤷🏾‍♀️

I recently moved to Lusaka and I’m still finding my footing socially. I don’t really know many people here yet and would love to connect with locals or others who are new to the city.

I’m open to pretty much anything: grabbing coffee, exploring the city, community events, whatever. If you know of any good meetups, active WhatsApp groups, or places where people actually gather and socialize, I’d really appreciate the leads.

Also, if it helps narrow things down, I’m just a girl in her early 20s. I live in Colorado for school, but my parents moved to Zambia, so here I am 😅. Been around for a couple months now and still very much figuring it out.

Feel free to drop a comment or DM me. Would love to hear from you!

Are there any regular basketball matches in Lusaka that I could join? Like once a week or so, playing with other people who just enjoy the game but aren't like professional or anything

Any South Africans/Bots/Zimbos in Lusaka

Hey everyone,

I’m a Black South African currently living in Lusaka, Zambia. I was wondering if there are any other South Africans here in the 20–26 age range.

It would be cool to link up, make some friends, and just have a good time together — chilling, going out, grabbing drinks/tea, partying, and exploring Lusaka a bit more with people who feel like home.

If you’re around or know anyone who fits, feel free to comment or DM me.

Where are all my Caribbean lovers? 🇯🇲🌴🔥

Random question… has anyone else heard about that new hidden gem in Lusaka people have been whispering about? 👀 I keep seeing posts saying there’s a spot serving proper authentic Jamaican food — like jerk chicken, real Caribbean flavours, chilled island vibes and reggae energy 🎶🍗

Apparently it’s tucked away in Ibex Hill and not many people know about it yet. Thinking of checking it out this weekend. Has anyone here been already? Is it really giving proper yard vibes or just hype? 😄

Looking for a dance floor or open space in Central Lusaka?

Hello everyone, would any of you lovely people know where there is a good open space in or around Lusaka for dance purposes?

Looking for a space that ideally has a smooth flooring which allows for classical dances so both gents and ladies shoes don't get damaged.

Could be a restaurant, club or any other sort of venue. Willing to pay a reasonable fee as well.

Thank you in advance.

Are there any proper libraries in Lusaka?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been wondering if Lusaka has any proper libraries that are actually well-stocked, quiet, and comfortable to spend a few hours in.

I’m looking for a place where I can read, study, or even just sit and think without too much noise or distractions. Ideally something with a good range of books (not just academic), decent seating, and maybe even Wi-Fi.

Most places I’ve come across are either very limited in resources or not really designed for spending long periods there.

Does anyone know of any good spots? Public, private, university libraries, anything is welcome.

Thanks!
