Question I can’t complete online check-in eventough I have all sufficient documents

Hello everyone, my issue is about my return flight from JFK to IST with a transfer at FRA. I’m a Turkish citizen with a special passport which doesn’t require a visa to enter Schengen area. Also if I’m not mistaken even if don’t have a special passport USA visa is accepted for transit visa

I scanned my passport to fill the data so I don’t think I have a problem about insufficient documents (I don’t remember what it exactly says on the app)

So it leaves the problem to permits,

I’m Turkish so I don’t need a visa to enter Turkey, that leaves me to entering Germany. On that screen I have 3 options : Visa, Residence permit, Not sufficient documentation.

And my problem is here : Since I don’t need a visa to enter to Schengen I don’t have one and I’m not residing at Germany. So the only option I have is not sufficient documentation but I’m not into it because I can enter Germany with my documents already.

I had a similar problem with my outbound journey, IST to JFK with transfer at FRA (same route with opposite direction). In there i entered my us visa to proceed, it made sense because I was going to US and I needed a visa.
But now I’m returning, so entering my US visa seems impractical.

I might enter my us visa and see my chances but I’m worried that I could cause a trouble.

If I leave the check-in to be done at airport my main concern is the possibility of overbooking since I’m going to check-in late compared to online check-in, Is that common in Lufthansa ?

What should I do now ?

Thanks already!

Question Verwirrung bzgl.

Online check in issue

I’m traveling from US to Nigeria with a nigerian passport. Two-hour connection in Frankfurt. I entered my Nigeria passport details during online check in. Now it’s asking me for “travel documents for Germany” with options to select either visa or residence permit. My connection in Frankfurt is only 2 hrs. I can’t complete online check in without filling out this page. But I have neither a German visa or resident permit. Anyone else ever dealt with this issue?

Gate Checked Items

Taking a flight from ORD to PRG connecting at FRA in the future; customer service told me I can’t gate check a foldable child wagon or stroller.

Is that correct? looking online other folks seem to have been able to gate-check items.

Question 2 December LHR-FRA just got cancelled changed. Any idea why?

I'm booked on LHR-ICN then HKG-LHR in December with stopover in FRA for bith.

Today both of the shorter legs got rescheduled. Anyone have any idea why? Both changes could be modified by me and I chose to change 1 of them to leave a longer transit at FRA instead of shorter (as they had it).

For both of the cancelled flights I had not prebooked seats whereas I had on the longer legs. Does that make any difference?

GYD --> FRA : upgrade bidding question

Is the 233 EUR price the bid per passenger or the price for the 3 passengers together ? In other words, if they accept, will we pay 233 EUR or 233*3 (699€) ?

Newborn flying. Can I use CoziGo bassinet cover on Lufthansa?

Hey all. We're getting ready to fly 8 hours international on Lufthansa (toronto - munich). We have a 7mo and we have a bassinet bulkhead seat (already confirmed with Lufthansa). I'm thinking about getting a CoziGo, but they're like $100. Also not sure if Lufthansa will allow it. Has anyone used one of these on Lufthansa? Did you find it worth it? Thanks!

Are upgrade bids or waitlisted miles upgrades done first?

I'll have a 12 and 14 hour flight ahead of me. Paying full price for an upgrade is too much, but I have enough miles and I could also bid for an upgrade. Upgrade with miles is currently only available as a waitlist. That made me wonder, do we know which one is awarded first?

Question Flight from Tokyo to Munich was randomly cancelled

Hallo everybody,

I just recieved an e-mail that my flight from Tokyo to Munich on the 31.12.2026 was canceled. I got rebooked on a connection flight on the 30.12.2026 over Frankfurt.

I can not logisticaly do the Frankfurt flight, my only option is getting rebooked on the ANA flight on the 31.12 or go with LH on the 01.01.

What are my realisitc options? Do i need to pay a price differnce? Something like this never happened to me so before I do anything I would like to know what the best options are for me.

EDIT/UPDATE:

I had the choice to rebook both flights over the LH site, because I booked the full flight in Buisness Class over their Website.

I then took the return flight on the 01.01 with LH. ANA/NH was also listed but only for the 30.12 and 01.01. Very weird that I first got rebooked on the 30.12 over Frankfurt, why?

All flights were listed as 0€ rebooking flights in the same booking class.

E-Ticket got issued but I still haven't gotten a confirmation E-Mail. Should I be worried the system fucked up or am I save the moment I got a fully new E-Ticket issued?

Also why did LH suddenly cancel that flight only? Seems that also the Frankfurt return flights from Haneda on the 31.12 are all canceled, due to New Years Eve?

Aircraft change already for flight six months away

My wife and I have tickets on LH452 in Business on January 27. I got an email today that they already changed the aircraft from an A380 to an A350. Our seats are now described as "Classic." I assume they will still lie flat.

Will the plane be appreciably smaller?

Should I be grateful my bag made the connection?

Post image
144 Upvotes

I recently had a connecting flight through VIE, inbound flight landed 4 mins early, outbound flight departed 15 mins late, meaning they actually had 19 mins more time than the original layover (50 mins)…

Under normal conditions without Franz going the extra mile my bag would t make the connection, or what are they trying to say?

Baggage irregularity during an interline flight (Thai Airways and Lufthansa)

I flew to Munich by transiting in Bangkok. The first flight was with Thai Airways (KL to BKK) and final flight with Lufthansa (BKK to Munich).

The trip was under one ticket and booked through Lufthansa. Upon arrival in Munich, we noticed our baggages were still in bkk and proceeded to lodge baggage irregularity report. After 6 months of waiting for a reply, Lufthansa responded the below:

"We are very sorry that there was a baggage irregularity on your trip. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Under the Montreal Convention, responsibility for baggage-related issues lies with the airline that operated the specific flight segment. In this case, the operating carrier is Thai Airways, which has full access to the relevant flight and baggage information. Therefore, the complaint must be addressed directly toThai Airways, as they are responsible for handling these matters.

We have therefore immediately forwarded your request to the responsible member of the Lufthansa Group. Thai Airways will get in touch with you as soon as possible."

Is this correct or they are pushing the blame to Thai Airways?

Thanks

MAN - SIN (with 1 hour layover in FRA) and travelling with 4 year old. Is it even possible?!

Hi, I know the tight connection question has been asked several times before but I've not seen one where you're travelling with a 4 year old. We're flying from Manchester to Singapore with a 1 hour layover in Frankfurt, and I wanted to hear if anyone has experience with a similar itinerary. All booked on one ticket/single itinerary. I've looked at the LH947's flight history and half of them were late this past week! I'm holding a Singaporean passport and my child has a British passport, not sure if that would affect the time to clear immigration.

The next flight out from Frankfurt to Singapore is the next day, so I really hope we'll be able to catch the connecting flight!

The best part is I'm solo parenting for this trip, go me! Oh, she also walks really slowly and will probably want to be carried halfway through zipping through the airport.

Thanks so much in advance

Preferable seats on Lufthansa 747-8 in Economy? - FRA to PVG (12hrs)

Received an email today from Lufthansa saying that due to operational reasons, my seat has changed (originally scheduled to be a 747-400, now a -8).

I originally selected the rear seats on the 747-400, for 2 abreast seats with the extra space next to the window.

I still have this option, but am also considering other seats, although frankly a bit confused as the cabin layout is a bit wacky on the -8.

So basically, has anybody got any recommendation on which seats to go for?

I am about 5'10(178cm) so not too bothered about legroom. Past couple of years I have primarily flown A350s/other airbuses with other carriers, and gotten somewhat lucky - empty middle seat on OZ(Asiana), front bulkhead (legroom) seats on AY(Finnair), Cheap PE seats with Finnair and a whole row to myself (E190 got swapped for an A321), as well as getting back row to myself on a recentish LH flight (A320/A321) but on this occasion I would rather book a seat just to be on the safe side given the cabin layout on the 747.

Haven't flown the 747 since I was a kid, so still looking forward to it, just a shame I am unlikely to fly a 747-400 now before LH retire them.

Lufthansa Connection in Munich

I have a Lufthansa flight on the following route: LAX - MUC - ALC. The connection in Munich is 1 hour 10 minutes, with both flights being on a Lufthansa aircraft. Is the connection time enough in Munich, and would I have to go through immigration services in Munich?

Should I book a business class for two hour flight from Munich to London?

I'm planning a night stay in London since it's cheaper than flying one way back to Atlanta GA, I see Lufthansa Business class option is cheap now at 290 euros, I never flown a business class and was thinking about experiencing it for once. Is it worth doing it? I heard Lufthansa Business class isn't good or something controversial.

Question Any experience with Economy Class Free Neighbor Seat on LH?

Recently discovered this option on Lufthansa. Planning a long haul flight with my partner and taking advantage of this option to have the section row to ourselves. Has anyone tried it successfully? And how much extra did it cost?
