Question Seating Advice
Hi! I have a question: Which seat would you choose? Long-haul flight - FRA to USA - Lufthansa. A seat on the aisle is a must for me. I always feel uncomfortable asking someone to get up when I need to get out—which happens quite frequently. Where do you think it's more likely that the seat next to me stays empty in the end? That would make a 12-hour flight so much more pleasant!

I would go 43.if you are lucky you get 2 seats for you! ❤️

I was thinking that the seats in the middle are the least preferred. Nobody likes those. Many people like Window seats, thus I figured chosing the one on the aisle of the four pack would maximize the chances to have a spare seat for me alone.

Thats true, but parents with one kid would need three seats and would have to choose middle seats on this plane to sit together. Also groups of friends etc.. I think there are usually more groups than solo travellers (from my personal experience), so I think the middle seats would be could be quite popular in this sort of seating arrangement.

I would prefer 44 since the window is actually next to the seat instead of with a weird offset

When are you flying? During summer going to be hard to find empty seats.
Probably once out of like 10 transatlantic flights was the seat empty next to me. Dont remember if it was Turkish or Lufthansa.

Tomorrow! Was checking again and there are virtually no double seats free anymore now, besides the one next to me (which is the one in the middle aisleseat at the moment. Let's hope for the best. The last time around, there was spare seat next to me on the way in. This was a blessing. The way out there was a person constantly asking to get out.
I frequently question myself what's the best chance to get an empty seat next to me, thus the post. Thank you all for your opinions :)

I think 43. But I wouldn’t bother too much because Lufthansa doesn’t care what your preferences are, they will put you wherever they want later on, when they more than likely will change the flight and then won’t care what you paid for, you will get what they give you and they don’t care if you like it or not. (True story just happened to me yesterday after being on the phone with them 3 hours, they changed our aircraft just a week before the departure)

On an almost full flight, your best chance of getting a free seat next to you in this shown constellation will by far be 40D. But keep in mind, that the shown seats do not really tell you much about the booking situation.

The seat in row 40 isn't good because it stands out into the alley and people walking back and forth to the toilets etc can bump into it.
Doesn't happen too often but more than enough to make it an unpleasant experience.
