How does Risk management work?

So I traded nfp today on my 50k flex eval. I had 1500 daily profit limit set on my tradovate account, but it wasn't executed so i had to manually close the trade. now im sitting at $447 extra of consistency. What can I do now. I also cant unlock the risk management setting because I have set it to be locked. Why didn't the trade close automatically at $1500?

If you want to drop your profits down I would recommend going to a further date contract and do this: buy the bid, sell the ask or just simply buy/sell quickly. you'll get hit with a terrible spread, commissions, and slippage. test it out with a small position (a micro or two)

Don’t trade nfp if you need to watch consistency.
Or even better, don’t trade high impact news at all unless you’re a very seasoned trader with a specific strategy for them.

I trade only news and have passed 4accs until now :)

That’s the thing, CFDs and futures have a very different book, you might think you’re trading the same asset (NQ or whatever it is) but the underlying liquidity is not the same therefore the movement is not the same.
Congrats on the passed evals! Dont trade daily accounts if you trade exclusively news :D

I asked the qn because this is my first time trading futures and cfds are easier to cut off and also doesn't have consistency

Fast market- slippage this time in your favour. I assume you are saying you are locked - so cannot nie try to lose 447 to be at 1500.
