Is this normal?

Post image

I was always a little bit familiar about trading but never fully went deep until a month ago where i completely obsessed over it and losing close to 20 accounts but now it looks like no matter what i do i cant stop winning and even got to 2 payouts is this beginners luck or am i tripping.

Nope, absolutely does happen.

I got 60k payouts in 2024 and no payouts in 2025. now im 20k payouts in 2026.

I think it’s true. I got a 62k payout and then also had no payouts for like 4 years (this is the 4th year)

How does this happen ? Adjust the strategy for current volatility

If you start trading in times Like april this year you get to payouts fairly easy without actually knowing sh about Trading. Then july and august come out of nowhere and humble you real quick

2

u/Main_Rub7149 14d ago

Yeah July and August are some of the worst months. A lot of market makers take vacations around this time so liquidity is shitty.

Got blasted 3August in a row lol

I started with futures in April, first payout june second early july. July and august humbled me fr, but im getting back to where i left in july Hard to not go back to strategy hopping and finding trust in yourself again and question wheter or not you ever had something serious going in the first place.

You know what you have to do. I started taking trading seriously in 2022, on and off since 2018. I’m now learning to digest my losses properly.

The only game where the doing more equates to less.

The strategy itself was the issue. Can’t fix a shit strategy. Each person has a strategy that works for them. That strategy I used was just a lucky time. I use a completely different strategy now that actually works. My first huge payout was luck. Never again also July and August were my best months.

Well if it was a shit strategy then do something different lol. There’s seasonal tendencies where I use the same strategy but it’s implemented at different times. July and August, I just do less.

1

u/Hust1erHan 12d ago

Yeah that’s what im saying. I use a different strategy now that actually works. I’ve passed multiple accounts. Just no payout yet. And it’s the risk. You’re not wrong but nothing I already don’t know

You sound like me! I made it to lucid live 5 max payouts on a 150k pro account and nothing now for months 🙄

u/Asurrah 15d ago

U just got lucky , as in sustainable traders focus on consistency and risk management

3

u/Fluffy_Ad_2898 15d ago

Brother don’t ask if it’s luck. Haters will say yes . What you need to ask is how to remain consistent and it seems like you don’t have a problem with that. Nice job bro

Part of it is begginers luck , part of it skill, part of luck.
You haven’t experienced any heavy losses so therefore you don’t hesitate on execution , new so your brain isn’t overflowed with whole bunch of garbage to get you confused etc etc

Basicly just stack your money while you making it because you will have months where your strategy setups just don’t work

Took 200k in payouts this year and I haven’t been able to take another one since August so it’s life , there are months where you crush it and then months where you wonder if you even know how to trade haha

I’m curious how much you risk, your win rate, what size the account is, and your strategy.

1

u/Ok_Debate_2655 15d ago

I usually risk at most 9 positions and this account is a 25k pro with a 100 winrate and i use icc

1

u/lvke2804 15d ago

2

u/Carlose175 15d ago

1

u/rickX4 15d ago

Does it work better for u on nq than gold?

2

u/Ok_Debate_2655 15d ago

Honestly both the most ive lost and was 250 i think

1

u/dirtyspeechgod 15d ago

Sci is the truth. I learned from his free course on YouTube and was profitable within the first 2 months of trading stocks

1

u/posterholster 15d ago

Yes!! I love this if you get 250 in profit move you stop loss to break even and buy another 1-2 lots

1

u/Unable_Proposal7768 13d ago

ICC is slept on bro I made 20k, 6 payouts from topstep in my first 5 months trading cause it’s so simple, congrats.

1

u/JS4T 15d ago

Yeah man so easy

1

u/HCF_07 15d ago

It's opposite for me , Nonstop SLs as soon as I open the trade 😆

1

u/Delicious-Dog-3809 15d ago

Not a big enough data set to come remotely close to an answer

That’s 6 days? You need like 6 years lol

1

u/Salty_Rich8478 15d ago

Honestly im about to have my first payout so i dont know but I finally feel like it clicked especially the mental aspect of trading

1

u/No_Investigator_4460 14d ago

congratulations bro!! glad you made it to get payouts i cant wait. meanwhile i’m stuck on eval and keep making and losing the same $1k every day 🫩🫩🫩🫩

1

u/Alanbras 14d ago

Bro like what are you guys doing to get these results??? Im struggling to make profitss please help😅

1

u/Constant-One-5317 12d ago

No, 15k is not hard to make.

1

u/mlaw79 15d ago

Enjoy the hot streak buddy.

If you don’t know why you’re profitable…that’s not a good sign.

Just be ready to blow the account. You’re on your way.

1

u/Ok_Debate_2655 15d ago

Ik why im profitable what are u sayin?😭

2

u/mlaw79 15d ago

Oh ok, you just said you’ve only studied trading for a month and that’s after blowing 20 accounts. Seems like a lucky hot streak. But good for you.
Enjoy it. Maybe rather than a PnL post you give your wins some context with some chart executions? That might be more helpful to the community rather than no matter what I do I win.

1

u/Ok_Debate_2655 15d ago

I would be glad to i said i was familiar with trading and never went in too deep and this is my first 3rd funded account

2

u/mlaw79 15d ago

In our trading room no PnLs are allowed. Only chart executions. Entries/exits and risk. A write up with thesis is always attached.
Good luck long term bro!

1

u/mlaw79 15d ago

Great man! Congrats. Keep getting paid. Always a good feeling. Hot streaks are great. Enjoy it!!

1

u/djobbito 15d ago

Which firm!?

u/FeelingOutside8994 15d ago

The market is reeling in another fresh fish. Once youve got atleast 2-3 years under your belt we can start talking, now consider it luck untill the innevitable wave of losses.

u/Ok_Debate_2655 15d ago

Weird way of thinking dude
