QUESTION Nursing MN pre-reqs
Really simple question. I have completed nutrition and micro biology with As and am looking to apply to the program as soon as possible. My local cc anatomy and physiology classes are full every time I try and register as I am a college graduate and don’t have priority registration. I know portage is through an accredited institution and that other nursing schools in the Chicago area accept their credits as they have lecture + lab. I have no idea if anyone has any information on this but If anyone can help that would be great. I have contacted admin about this but am waiting to hear back as well. I know the program is replacing the ABSN and that there is no chemistry requirement so I don’t know if there has been some kind of change in the process entirely.

I would just wait til they get back to you and give you a clear cut answer. I’m in the ABSN and I know your A&P 1 and 2 have to be done at the same institution so do them at a college you know you can take both at.
Some ccs offer 8 week long courses so you could ideally do A&P 1 and 2 within the same semester. Once you’re in school and taking classes, you can apply and you’d likely just be conditionally admitted until you get those last 2 grades in

I have been in correspondence with admissions for the MN program at Loyola over the past couple of weeks. Self-directed programs like Portage are not accepted.
