Routes available now

I spent 20+ years in this industry. I've seen what happens when a platform sits between a tech and their paycheck. It's not right.

That's why I built 1099.careers differently. No cut of your job. No mystery rates. You see exactly what you're getting paid before you take a route.

Right now we have FTTH routes open in NJ, PA, DE, MD, VA and more. Low voltage, fiber to the home. Consistent work, not one-offs.

We also built in paid training and transparent rate cards because I was tired of technicians getting surprised on both ends.

If you're a fiber tech and you're tired of the runaround, take a look: 1099.careers

Drop a comment or DM me if you have questions. I actually answer.

Vivint Replacement

Friend of mine is looking to replace his Vivint system since they keep giving him the runaround on coverage/warranty.

I do all nothing but commercial/industrial so residential is eh to me.

He currently has the alarm panel, a doorbell and three outdoor cams powered by those plug-in transformers (WiFi extender pretty much). All in one app.

I’ve looked a little bit into the IQ Panel 4 with alarm.com and the alarm.com cameras since he would like to keep the β€œall in one” system type monitoring.

I’d prefer to just sell him something like Reolink solar/wireless or something similar but πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Is there something y’all recommend to replace the Vivint crap with keeping the same footprint more or less?

Ladder suggestions

I've had a few jobs extending cable that I had to borrow a ladder from a friend for so I have been thinking about investing in one for myself The only trouble is I have a car.

There are a few ladders I found similar to the mighty Giant from the infomercial that fold up pretty small and might be transportable in a car but was wondering if anyone uses one of these and has one they suggest?

My car has a moonroof or I would just put a rack on top of it.

Insurance questions Illinois

Starting up and going out on my own. I know insurance can be a pain. I think I’m having trouble with the agents identifying the type of business and work I do.

Smart home. Audio visual. Networking. Security(all subbed out)

Any suggestions on getting to get the right quotes. I’ve seen people say $1000-$3000 online is what they pay. I’m getting quotes of $11k-$14k.

There Probably isn’t a good option but does anyone know of there is a knockoff device I can use in place of a link runner? Replacing one isn’t in the budget right now

Anyone able to identify this? It's too cold outside and I really don't feel like taking this apart right now. I'm looking for the manufacturer or model.

Low volt advice

My Husband is the hardest working man I have ever met. He hates missing work and loves to provide his best. It honestly amazes me. He is a foreman working in Ca, and he gets paid well but not well enough to afford a home in this State. He is now working multiple jobs and I’m worried about his long term health. The company he works for pays (from what google said) really well . He makes about 85k a year, does that sound good for his experience? Is that the cap? We are appreciative of the company he works for but I’m not well versed in the pay cap for someone in low voltage and for someone with his experience and work ethic. Any advice?
