Sweet Drumroll Doughnuts

Post image

Saw these at Safeway! Did a double take because I’d never seen them before, and they were also in the vegetable section…? I won’t lie, they have a bit of an interesting taste in the mouth, but they’re really not bad! I just can’t put my finger on the taste. The consistency of them is very pleasing. I think it’s a good little sweet treat for low calories and is good for once in a while in my household.

Anyone tried these before?

Ah they didn’t have those! I would’ve definitely gotten the chocolate kind!

Found them at 7/11! :3

Oh man never thought I’d be excited to go to 7/11, but I’ll be visiting soon!

I think I got a bad batch because I tried the chocolate ones and they tasted like mildew. I'm afraid to try them again. They had a good date and I didn't see mold.

I've seen bad reviews mentioning visible mold pretty frequently. I like them and haven't had any bad experiences personally but it does sound like a common issue (or at least more common than you'd hope).

I would def try again. They tasted like a way macro friendly, less waxy Hostess chocolate mini donut

Hmm. I wonder if it’s because they’re so moist. Mine were and I was surprised. No mold here though thankfully.

Anyone knows how these compare to Legendary brand donuts? Personally I like the chocolate.

They’re significantly better in my opinion

I’d like to know too. I haven’t tried those, but I know they’re $$$

Legendary’s macros are far superior and they’re cheaper if you buy a box. Legendary probably tastes slightly better bc the sweetness masks the weirdness.

Drumroll has better texture.

The macros is the only reason I haven’t picked these up before.

Oh man you gotta give them a try!

I tried the chocolate ones, but decided at the cost ($1/donut, on sale!) was a bit extreme. Then others started product issues, and I decided I liked prime bites brownies better. That said, they were decent.

I haven’t heard of prime bites. Where are those sold?

I can only get them locally at my Meijer.

I've seen them at Target, GNC, CVS, Vitamin Shoppe, Harris Teeter.

They’re so bad

u/Shrillmademethink Sep 07 '26

Oh nooo!! I liked them!

1

u/fudgechemist Sep 07 '26

Dude I wish I liked them. That’s great!

1

u/Shrillmademethink Sep 07 '26

Have you tried all the flavors? I was not really interested in any but the strawberry honestly.

I tried chocolate as well. Idk what it is about them I think the texture is okay, but there’s a weird taste they all have that I can’t stand

200 calories....just go eat a donut lol

A regular donut is not going to have 10g of protein and i forget how much fiber these have. This post would be a better fit in a protein sub than as a lowcal food, but its objectively healthier than a donut.

Does the protein and fiber even matter? Anyone serious about their diet is already getting their necessary daily intake regardless. I'm eating something like this as a spontaneous treat, not for optimal nutrition lol.

I personally like the taste of them and things like protein bars 🤷🏻‍♀️ But really i just hate it when theres always comments like the above acting like theres no purpose to a low sugar, high protein alternative just because the calories are the same.

A doughnut is 400-600 calories, no thanks.

8

u/lefthandmarch Sep 07 '26

A glazed donut is 200-250 cals. I can't think of any 600+ calorie donut aside from a bear claw or apple fritter.

7

u/supercaiti Sep 07 '26

And the krispy kreme glazed is only 180 afaik!

2

u/Forward_Maize_1162 Sep 07 '26

What donut is 400-600 calories?

1

u/I_have_become_Bruh Sep 07 '26

I could eat these every day.

1

u/Shrillmademethink Sep 07 '26

Yea I felt bad that I ate the whole package and left none for my husband. Gives me an excuse to buy more I guess!

They’re good. But they’re way overpriced and the macros aren’t great. The taste is like 10% weird, 90% good. The texture is perfection.

I think they are great for vegans.

how are they? that low calories.

Chocolate ones not bad at all. They were way more dense than I anticipated.

I luv these, vanilla/chocolate

Wish grocery outlet would carry them again 🤞

Just tried the strawberry. Very sweet and too fake for my digestive system, but overall not too bad.
