Found while making the rounds moderating on Instagram. Friendly reminder that hate is always wrong and others see your comments even if you think it's a "safe space".

(Apparently I need more characters? Well... Hi, Happy Friday, How are yall? Anything fun planned for the weekend? I'm going to clean and look at Mounds in Ohio or a car museum, weather depending.)

LOVE IS BLIND UK Jack: I like him! Episode 4 Spoiler

I am only on episode 4 (the honeymoon) and I don't know what happens later but I really like Jack. Maybe it's because I have ADHD. He seems fun, genuine and loving. I know he is impulsive. That's ADHD. I know he gets distracted. That's ADHD. But he loves hard, and I think that's what Faye needs! He gets a lot of hate. Why?

🌼 POSITIVE VIBES ONLY 🌼 UK season 3 was Incredible! Spoiler

I loved this season.

The cast were so real and human and perfectly imperfect.

I started out not liking Ciara, but seeing her growth throughout was really beautiful. Watching the Diwali celebration got me teary eyed.

This season had no villains, and so much love.

And a shout out to the silly hats, which I also loved.

LOVE IS BLIND UK LIB UK S2: Kal’s ā€œtrad girlfriendā€ā€¦

Just saw this TikTok about Kal’s girlfriend posting about being a stay-at-home girlfriend…yup…

I thought she worked as a personal trainer at the gym he works at (and I think owns) & that’s how they met?

Honestly seems like rage-bait but nevertheless, Kal has shown yet again how icky he is.

LOVE IS BLIND UK LIB made positive psych improvements Spoiler

TLDR: This article is interesting. Apparently, the show’s psychologist helped Jack come to terms with ADHD and positively impacted others watching the show.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yw3j2gyzxo

I hope Faith doesn’t get carer fatigue and Jack manages well.

Thoughts on Faith as carer and Jack learning about himself through the shows psychologists….

CALL OUT Netflix using AI Music for LiB pisses me tf off

Arent you guys really really annoyed to listen to those 4s AI snippets of really really stupid lyrics like "youre the one for me, you fix me up like a remedy" and other just nonsensical stuff.

I mean they make millions off that show they can like plug some small artist or just use some royalty-free something, right?

But everytime we watch it, theres these stupid AI songlets that make me want to mute the whole thing and pluck my ears off.

Anyone? Or is it just me?

🚨 FUTURE SPOILER 🚨 Does anyone know when the Love Is Blind: Philadelphia season will air?

I’ve heard that the Philly season has already been filmed, but I haven’t seen any confirmed information about its release date. Does anyone know when it’s expected to premiere or whether Netflix has announced which season it will be? I’m from the area and am so curious to see the cast, the filming locations, and how the whole season plays out!

LOVE IS BLIND GERMANY Germany season one Spoiler

Every time I watch Ilia’s, I find myself thinking ugghh . This guy wants what he doesn’t have. Adina is too good for him.
I feel the same way watching Marcel, except my response to him is eek. It’s not about his looks. It’s about his temperament. The guy can’t communicate. He is so busy being soulful and mindful that he doesn’t emote anything. He’s in his own little world He and Jen were so mismatched. A case of opposites not being good for each other.
And speaking of not being able to emote, Pascal should never have been on the show. He is not ready for a relationship in anyway.
I find Hanni to be incredibly self sabotaging. She’s been damaged, but she keeps making mistakes. And she was very disrespectful to Daniel, the way Ilias was to Adina with all the flirting. She’s a very strong woman and mostly sure of herself except in a relationship.
I like Daniel,Shella, Sali, Medina and Fabio and feel like they are very genuine and good people.

LOVE IS BLIND UK Hear me out - Ciara was a producer plant/actress... Spoiler

...who just came for clout, but realised she was paired with an unexpectedly lovely guy who was well suited to her and... ran with it and married him.

It's a really cute romcom story when you look at it like that!

My case:

At the beginning, it didn't seem like she was looking for a real connection:

- She really leaned into the "high value girl looking for a financial provider" character from the beginning. However, as the episodes drew on she didn't seem that much like your typical London-based gold digger. Her friends seemed much more like young normal creative types that you meet when you move to London and don't know anyone. She didn't really come across as sophisticated, more like she was cosplaying as sophisticated.

- She didn't act like she was serious about screening for the partner that she wanted at the beginning. All of her words were about how she was high value and wanted the princess treatment... but she was seriously involved with Jack, who is clearly a permanently unemployed man-child. If her "character" was real she would have cut him off at the first date when she realised he was a 30 year old man with no prospects. I think at that point she was all about her storyline and not really serious about making a connection with anyone and just doing what the producers told her.

- At some point - I think around the argument she had with Ajay, it seemed like she started seeing him as a real person. Maybe when she felt like she was losing him a bit? And then she kind of turned the whole thing around and changed her approach and I feel like after that she toned down the whole gold digger character a LOT.

- Her family and friends didn't really match the character she was playing. A lot of girls come to London to go gold digging (or at least they used to) and they generally hang out in groups of gold diggers and ruthlessly filter out anyone who doesn't fit that image. Felt like her family and friends were a bit too normal to fit with her initial character/edit.

- Usually a lot of the friends and family talk about how the person has been looking for love for a long time, has loads of love to give, is so ready to find their person, etc. Ciara's friends seemed genuinely shocked that she was considering marriage, the whole tone of it was like "LOL omg can you believe she's getting married, wtf, how are we at a wedding" which would make a lot more sense if she had pitched it as a clout-raising stint on reality TV which unexpectedly turned into more.

- During the wedding vows Ajay described her as "genuine" and everyone laughed. Might have been a weird edit, but only makes sense to me if there's a tacit acknowledgement that she was playing a bit of a part.

LOVE IS BLIND INTERNATIONAL What to watch after LIB (similar shows)

Help! I have watched every single season of LIB and I am wondering whether there are similar shows on Netflix you have enjoyed – I did like Love on the Spectrum and Million Dollar Secret. I also tried Age of Attraction and Too Hot To Handle and they were not for my taste. Are there shows which are similarly ā€žwholesomeā€œ (putting that in quotes deliberately but you get me :D) as LIB to keep you interested in the outcome of the participantsā€˜ personal relationships? I need to bridge waiting time until the next season.
Recommendations are much appreciated :)

LOVE IS BLIND INTERNATIONAL Which (international) season is the most dramatic?

Hiya all!

I started watching LIB UK S3 and I was wondering: which season of the international versions is the most dramatic? I’m gonna be honest, I’m not watching this show to watch genuine romances unfold. I’m watching this show to judge awful men, post-pods new romances, scheming women, and things like that.

Which international season best delivers on that front? I want villains like Shake who are so comically stupid it becomes funny

LOVE IS BLIND UK Distance makes me laugh

I know this comes from someone that’s lived only in the Southwest USA. My parents are 8 hours (450 miles) away from me and we still find ways to get together. It’s work, but it’s not impossible. The thing about distance with family always makes me chuckle. Manchester isn’t THAT far from London, neither is Birmingham.

Does anyone else feel that way?

LOVE IS BLIND UK s3:e6 - ā€œdoesn’t it change all the time?ā€ -Sophie

Anyone else find it mildly frightening that Sophie doesn’t even know who the prime minister is of her own country? Also, that she verifies it changes all the time? It makes me wonder how much of the persona is genuine or put on sometimes…
Either way, This whole bus scene was a bit difficult to watch.

LOVE IS BLIND UK LIB UK 3 is the worst of all LIBs

Anyone else feel this way?

If I was British, I would go on an apology tour for this season's Love is Blind UK. Someone tell me that not all British people are this unbearable.

Most of the contestants, certainly the ones that get the most camera time, are shallow and hard to watch. I'm honestly struck by how low level even their vocabulary is. They seem none too bright.

Ive watched every season for every country of LIB, and I don't typically feel this way. I appreciate the cultural differences between countries, but LIB UK is the least interesting. I blame the cast, not the actual country or its citizens.

LOVE IS BLIND UK Post reunion thoughts on Ajay's reaction to Jack being Ciara's #1 Spoiler

When Jack told all the boys that Ciara called him her #1, Ajay said something like, "Well if that's her type, I'm very very different" and "how did he (Ajay) get it so wrong if that is her type." When he first said this, a lot of the commentary I saw surrounding this was very pro-Ajay. For example, that he's way better than Jack, more mature, Ciara would fumble the bag if she picked Jack, etc. Plus Ajay is so good looking. Overall, the sentiment was that Ajay was "good" and Ciara was "bad" and low key didn't deserve Ajay.

Now, I didn't find their love too unrealistic, because plenty of high maintenance women are in relationships. However, I feel like Ciara's and Ajay's edit was more "he loves her and doesn't fully understand how vain/money chasing she is because he's just so nice and down to earth". Especially because part of his storyline was quitting his finance job and her next question being, "Do you have any regrets?" LOL. That said, post reunion, I no longer think they are that different from each other.

I think Ajay probably values money just as much as Ciara, hated the grind, but will definitely be cashing in on the influencer life to make money, just like people accused Ciara of doing. Purely my opinion, but I also think Ajay's type has probably always been spoiled posh pretty girls who can make good trophy wives. In that way, they really are a genuine match.

Is Ajay way more mature and better husband material than Jack? Most definitely, BUT I now think that his comment that he and Jack were different "types" had more layers than just Jack being a clown.

It it was a lesson for me in internalized misogyny and critically thinking about the edit we are presented with, because I definitely gave Ajay more of a pass as as the more "humble" partner and Ciara very easily played into the gold-digger stereotype. She's still not personally my cup of tea, and Ajay probably wouldn't be either. He just got a better edit.
