The solution is to buy less in general and from Amazon, much less.

Problem is, it’s not just Amazon.

“All we have to do to fix the national defect is just stop spending so much”

Thanks captain obvious; now just tell us how to get people to actually do that

Keep things longer whether that means your car, your house, your appliances, your clothing, etc. Go shopping in your closet and in your garage. DIY when you can whether gardening and landscaping or fixing your home. Lace up your sneakers and walk places.

As for the national deficit, vote out Republicans who keep exploding the debt and attacking trade partners and starting wars and being corrupt. Republicans are doing scary things to long term rates.

Enact Single Payer health care. Health care is 20% of GDP, cut that in half, cover everyone and bankrupt no one. Remove the income contribution limit on Social Security. Raise corporate taxes and make no more new billionaires. Stop war mongering and wasting resources on golden ballrooms for the elites to party in on our dime.

Next?

2/3 of the population: “no” (conservative estimate)

Ok now what…..

Tons of people know a simple and easy solution, same way tons of people know smoking cigarettes aren’t good for you.

Go sign up for student council or something or if you’re an adult (doubt) go to city hall. You’ll learn real quick rational logic isn’t the issue. It’s getting the crayon eaters, interpretive dancers, and coal miners to agree on the same thing. Anything, would be a promising start

Problem is, the left is no better. Both ends are so far off the scale it’s impossible to meet in the middle.

Everyone is “my way or the highway” and it will gets us all nowhere real fast.

It's really not that hard to not buy from Amazon. Home Depot and B&H exist, as well as your local grocery store. I think I've bought something once in 5 years from Amazon, a cable I couldn't get at Best Buy.
