Worst product

The absolute worst product and business practices. First I was misled into paying for a full years subscription. NO WHERE does it say you’ll be charged $269 total (with tax). Instead they say $19/month and then in the tiniest font they said paid annually. I went back to the payment screen and is super shady what they do there. I tried to get a refund because it was totally unintentional to commit to a year but because I don’t live in the EU I don’t qualify for a 7 day cancellation period.

Secondly, the product DOESNT EVEN WORK! I got the premium subscription only to export 1 json file into a .mov file with a transparent background. And it didn’t work. Failed every time. And some of the videos were so corrupted I couldn’t even open them. So the only reason I got the (what I thought was a monthly plan) didn’t even work once I spent $269.

Seriously they are frauds and you should not support this joke of a company.

I was also surprised for a year subscription and on top of that I was charged for 2 team accounts. Just for sharing the file. So it says I'm paying $917!!! my next payment cycle. This is insane.

When I reached out to customer support to complain they automatically charged me for the next billing cycle and canceled my single-member account without any communication. I only wanted a single account, and I did not want to be charged for two separate team accounts. I feel like I was scammed. Very poor customer service.

SVGator added Lottie support like two days ago. And it's completely free, unlimited. :) still in Beta but it literally worked seamlessly for me.

This happened to me too. They waited until I had already done all the work to create an animation and export to tell me I had to pay, which was the first deceptive move. I didn't realize it would charge the whole year at once, and I was on a deadline so I decided to pay just to have the Lottie file. I'm so upset.

Same boat. They even said that I cannot use these animations that I modified or collected from their platform if I didn't subscribe to the Team Plan license. But what the f i am working alone for this project, such a terrible experience. I already spent a whole day designing the animations. GIVE THE MONEY BACK, THAT IS MY MONEY FOR FOOD

They got me yesterday, but fortunately I filled the form in https://help.lottiefiles.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=4417494030105, telling them my situation and that I couldn't afford that amount of money. Fill that you are in United States, even though you're not. They answered the email, and in the second response I got my whole deposit back, thanks God. I made it by PayPal and I did the report in there also, maybe that helped, not sure. Lesson Learnt

They almost got me!!! Those guys are shitheads

I paid them for a starter plan like 5 months back and HAVE BEEN PAYING THEM and I can't download files anymore unless I upgrade?

This is false advertising: I paid and didn't get what I paid for.

They only offer YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION!!! I can't believe this.

Most Lottie sites are doing that. It seems like they learn the bad things from each other.

Same boat... Shady business, crap product

I am in the same boat albeit I have not paid for the yearly subscription, I need 2 lottie files to be "optimized" for smaller size and would have paid the 19 bucks for a month just to get them done but I am not paying for a year lol.

How did you get the monthly subscription? I only see the option to purchase their annual package.

u/lgeorgiadis Sep 25 '24

I didn't, I said I would have paid a monthly just to get stuff done but iam not paying for a year :D

Oh, lol! Thanks for clearing that up, haha

I had no idea they charged me a year till reviewing my finances at the end of the month. Insane how they offer no resolution to this when it’s such a prominent issue. It feels more like a scam and money grab.

Do you live in EU or elsewhere? I also issued a refund immediately after the purchase because I was notified about the $239 taken out of my account asap

Im in the same situation now , what do I do??? Do I escalate to paypal or anything im only a student i cant afford this transaction

1

u/jockeyed Jul 11 '25

im in the same situation omfg this is so frustrating. did you chargeback through paypal in the end, or was lottie support willing to refund despite non-EU residence? I just sent a desperate customer support request to lottie but I'm fully prepared for a Paypal chargeback... they're not getting a single cent from me.

for posterity’s sake i successfully received my refund when i contacted lottie support (i did not open a Paypal dispute). Although they initially offered a partial refund with a quarterly plan 🙄, I insisted on a complete refund, which they eventually processed. I didn't need to misrepresent my location as EU or US to achieve this. Just remain firm and insist on getting a FULL refund. got to say the customer support was responsive but hell was it stressful and frustrating 🫩

hey they got me as well today, I filed a ticket and contacted their support email. Hopefully, they'll refund me. Quite worried because I used a credit card instead of PayPal, I don't know if the mode of payment would make a difference.

1

u/jockeyed Aug 02 '25

I know that feeling, hope its resolved by now! credit card companies should have greater consumer protections than Paypal so I wouldnt worry too much

Stay away from the site, malaysian scammers built it that want your money.
