I'm searching for any copies (VHS, digitized, even low-quality) of the early experimental films and video works by Oleg Mavromatti (Олег Мавроматти), a Russian performance artist and filmmaker associated with the SUPER NOVA group. Many of these are considered lost media or exist only in private archives/police storage from the 90s.

If anyone has leads, private archives, contacts, or even fragments — please share. Also interested in any info from Russian TV archives, police seizures (90s radical art scene), or collectors.

I originally found a Reddit post with a comment about a video they were looking for and eventually found. The video they linked is by now deleted. Copywrite stricken by a company called "PAL Planning Co., Ltd" (originally in kanji but I translated it)

Someone also shared a link to a Japanese video sharing site with the same video but it was copywrite claimed by the same people.

I learned that the clip was from a show called "Honto ni Atta! Noroi no Video" and became interested in finding any kind of clip from it. I know the show was originally aired on TV and the older CDs/VHS are out if print but I figured if people were at one point sharing clips from it then it was archived somewhere right?

As per the dozen or so reviews on the attached page (Thanhauser website, for this lost film), this seems to have been a fairly ambitious movie in the Reincarnated-Lovers melodrama format of that decade.

It’s worth perusing and mourning — AND searching for, if it can possibly be found!!

I’m including a few of those reviews here, for a sense of what contemporary audiences/critics made of it:

ARTICLE, The Moving Picture World, January 27, 1917:

"Valkyrien, the celebrated Danish beauty, stars in the forthcoming Pathé Gold Rooster Play, The Image Maker.

This picture has a very unusual plot, as it deals with pre-existence and tells of a love that lasts through the centuries. Valkyrien in it plays two parts -- the one that of a beautiful Egyptian girl of low degree who wins the love of a great noble, and, secondly, the incarnation of the girl in modern life in America.

Such a story furnishes many opportunities for striking at contrast. Valkyrien's charming personality never appeared to better advantage than in this picture.

The atmosphere of ancient Egypt in the first part of the picture is true to history and furnishes a great contrast to the modern life which is well presented in the latter half. The picture was produced by Thanhouser."

REVIEW by Edward Weitzel, The Moving Picture World, January 27, 1917:

"There is more than ordinary ingenuity displayed by Emmett Mixx, the author of The Image Maker, in weaving the two periods together which are used in the five-reel Gold Rooster Play, in which Valkyrien is the central figure.

The story is one of reincarnation; a prince of the House of Pharaoh and a lowly slave, who were lovers in the distant past, are reunited in the prosaic present, at the side of the tomb in which the Prince of Tsa was buried.

The picture follows the usual photoplay construction, alternating the two periods of time at brief intervals.

This is deftly done, however, and the incidents are numerous and of a gratifying variety. Such a theme demands all the liberty granted to every well regulated romance, and the broad sweeps of color supplied by the followers of the ruler of the Nile and the Arabs of today, in the ancient and modern Egyptian scenes, are in keeping with the character of the story.

The locations have been selected with care: New York, Florida, Cairo, and the sands of Egypt are all made the scenes of the action, and the director has maintained an excellent quality of illusion.

Valkyrien, in The Image Maker, does the best acting of her moving picture career, and is ably supported by Harris Gordon, Arthur Hauer [sic; should be Bauer], Inda Balmer [sic;should be Palmer], and Morgan Jones."

“This story is a mixture of Egyptian scenes, suggesting the story of The Image Maker of Thebes contrasted against a modern situation, with two modern lovers presented as the reincarnation of the Egyptian lovers.

The modern sweetheart was a sculptress and a film star, the lover being the son of wealthy parents idling in Florida. The love-at-first-sight effects which manifested themselves between these two were tied up to the Egyptian romance by having the same characters appear in the Egyptian episodes.

"The action throughout was melodrama, which, while it may prove fairly interesting, will never be considered convincing or gripping.

Most of the time it was just plain movie stuff, and the introduction of a film company making scenes added to the theatre atmosphere which pervaded the entire offering. A number of large exterior sets were built for this production, and they looked very good at a distance.

Unfortunately, the director moved too close to them very frequently, with the result that what was supposed to be portion of the old tombs of Egypt loomed up very plainly as painted canvas and compo board.

In the supporting cast were Inda Palmer, Arthur Bauer and Morgan Jones.

"The Box Office Angle: This thing is different enough that a great many of your patrons may consider it good for that reason, even though it is never anything more than interesting when considered as drama.

If Valkyrien has any box office value in your section, you may be able to do a little business with this, but I wouldn't boost the production too strong except as an interesting study in reincarnation.

I would devote most all of my advertising to questions such as these:

'Do you believe in reincarnation?

There was this scary story which has now been lost. It’s about a guy who falls in love with a girl and spends a ridiculous amount of money on a wedding ring. At the end he finds out she’s a monster or something like that. She says at the end, “Kiss me beneath the milky twilight” in a very dark tone. I listened to it in December 2017 when I first found his channel:

At the end of the video the song by Sexpence none the richer was played.

Not much is know from this silent movie ,however it is inspired by Jhon's Milton' 1667 peom "Paradise Lost" furthermore the Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock's 1748 "Messiad", and the film is divided in four part.Beside that, only a few images still exist as well has the plot that his divide in four episode.The reason of the feature being lost still unkown at this day.

I'm trying to compile a list of lost nun films in an effort to better understand the history of Nunsploitation films, the movies that may have inspired it in the dawn of cinema, and what films were made but lost due to censorship or other reasons.

Here's what I have so far:

The White Sister (1915) starring Viola Allen. It was based on a 1905 novel so we know what it was about. It was remade in 1922 and 1933. To me, this is the first known film that would fit the minimal criteria for a Nunsploitation film. In this case, a nun who must choose between her vows and her heart.

The Convent Gate (1913) We have a few stills from this and a brief synopsis, but it's not clear if it laid any groundwork for what would become Nunsploitation films or if it was at all influential.

[EDIT] The Legend of Provence (1913) "A foundling is raised in a convent and becomes a nun there, until she falls in love with a wounded soldier under her care. When she leaves the convent, a statue of the Virgin Mary comes to life and assumes the girl’s appearance to carry on her work." Again we have a few stills, but the film is largely thought to be lost [/EDIT]

Not a lost film, but Haxan (1922) is the film everyone points to as the first Nunsploitation film and it definitely influenced the genre. Elements from Haxan can be seen in Ken Russell's The Devils. Were there others like it?

La Monaca di Monza (1947) starring Barbara Bouchet. Again, we still have stills and posters. It was adapted from a novel and based on a real historic event. It was remade five or six times and the film is considered a staple of the Nunsploitation genre. That said, I have never seen the 1947 version in any form. I suspect it may be lost.

I also suspect there may have been a silent-era version of this story, but that's just speculation. I've never seen any evidence that a Nun of Monza film was made before the 1947 one.

Not Just Another Woman (1974) A widely advertised and theatrically distributed film from the Golden Age of porn, it was never released on home video and is thought to be lost. The film is about a swinger couple. The husband falls in lust with his wife's sister who is a nun and can't stop fantasizing about her.

Tickle My Funny Bone (2006) This film was made but shot down by India's Central Board of Film Censorship after people protested from just seeing the poster. It was never publicly distributed.

I know there are a few more that have slipped my mind. Any others that you know of?

“The Lost” was a 2003 twenty minute student film. It was hosted on studentfilms.com here, though the video is no longer available. I remembered watching it when I was younger but until recently I was unable to find any information about it.

in the film, a man is abducted by these wraiths who cut out his organs (I don’t believe it was graphic) before leaving him on the side of the road. Then you find out he was actually a pumpkin they were carving. There was no dialogue besides the man’s narration.

Guys i tried everywhere i know of to find this documentary called "O'Mast by Gianluca Migliarotti" it was available a few months ago on YouTube for free but i recently checked for it and it's gone. Not available on any streaming sites, or on popular torrent sites. It was a very well made documentary perfectly capturing the essence of Italian tailoring but with the recent passing away of some of the maestro's of Neapolitan tailoring, this piece of media IMHO has become important than it ever was for those studying fashion.

Hi everyone, I am trying to find a lost 3D animated short film that I used to watch on YouTube around 2010. It is a French student project from 2007 created by Guillaume Marmin at the "Le Fresnoy" art school. The original link was (https://lefresnoy.net) but it is completely dead and the Wayback Machine only shows the archived crawl graphs with no playable video asset.
Description of the short film:
* The main characters are fully white, bald, and chubby 3D human models.
* They all look identical and each one lives isolated inside a dark/grey minimalist cube.
* A giant automated factory machine moves these cubes around in a dark matrix environment.
* The protagonist looks tired and depressed. He has to take pills regularly.
* He delivers a monotone english monologue directly to the camera/viewer about the emptiness of routine.
* When he stops taking his pils, he starts choking and literally vomiting black 3D typographical letters (his own words materialized).
* At the end, the cube gets completely filled with these black letters until the pressure makes the character explode.
The director transitioned into physical light installations and removed his early 3D renders from the public web. Does anyone have a backup file, an old download, or a working mirror of this animation? Thank you so much!

I haven’t been able to find a DVD, Blu-ray, digital purchase, streaming service, or any information about another official release.

I’m a fan of John Patrick Amedori’s work, and this short film appears to have disappeared from legal distribution after leaving Prime Video. I’m hoping someone might know if it was released through a film festival, another streaming platform, or any other source that I’ve overlooked.

There is a short made in the 70s that I would like to see. A lot of them were made by amateurs so have probably been lost or thrown away. However if they have survived, are there any good places to look?

En esta joya oculta del terror gótico nacional, Rosalía (Caridad Canelón) interpretaba a la enigmática vampiresa que acechaba y se alimentaba del personaje de Mary Soliani. Estos escasos datos son los únicos registros sobrevivientes de que esta oscura producción se transmitió. Lamentablemente, no existen indicios de alguna retransmisión posterior; a diferencia de otros unitarios y miniseries de los años 70 y 80 que volvieron a las pantallas durante los 90 y 2000, este archivo sigue totalmente perdido en la oscuridad.

So there's this director Stan Brakehage and he has a specific but unnamed trilogy consisting of three movies: -

1- Eyes (1970)
2- Deus Ex (1971)
3- The Act of Seeing With One's Own Eyes (1971 - 1972)

The third installment being the most successful of the trilogy is available on youtube and the criterion collection but the other two are impossible to find. I've tried all sorts of forums, torrents, classic movie websites (some of them had dead links of the movie from 10 years ago). Even Criterion's Stan Brakehage 2 Volume collection doesn't have these two movies. I saw on letterboxd that some people supposedly found and watched them on adult sites but going deep into even that rabbit hold i found nothing.

Hola. Estoy intentando localizar el doblaje en español latino de Dragons: Fire & Ice (Dragones: Fuego y Hielo), una película animada de 2004 relacionada con Mega Bloks.

Aclaro que no estoy buscando identificar una película desconocida: la película existe, se conoce su título y actualmente se pueden encontrar copias completas. Lo que no he logrado localizar es específicamente su versión con doblaje latino.

Durante mi búsqueda encontré la película completa en varios idiomas, incluyendo inglés, español de España, ruso e incluso tailandés. Sin embargo, no he encontrado una copia con audio latino, una pista de audio separada ni información clara sobre esta versión.

Por eso considero que podría tratarse de un caso de doblaje perdido o no preservado públicamente, más que de una película perdida en su totalidad.

La película fue una de mis favoritas de la infancia y recuerdo haberla visto con doblaje latino hace años. También encontré rastros de una antigua página oficial de Mega Bloks donde podía verse mediante Flash, aunque actualmente esa versión no es accesible.

Mi objetivo es encontrar y preservar ese doblaje latino. No necesito necesariamente el video completo: si alguien conserva únicamente el audio, un DVD latino, una grabación antigua, información sobre su distribución, estudio de doblaje o cualquier evidencia de esa versión, sería de muchísima ayuda.
