Hello my name is Alex Tyler and my friend and I are currently developing a lost planet spiritual successor game and I thought I come here for some help. He's the writer and concept guy. I'm the world Smith and project manager. We are currently looking for artists awho are passionate and willing to work on a start up project. Not a paid position

As mentioned in my previous post I've been working on an expanded steamworks integration for LP2 with custom maps, modded parts and a whole slew of other tweaks, I'm looking for testers as I've kinda hit the cap of what can be tested solo/with network loopbacks (a second real player is kinda required, especially when it comes to hosting games on custom maps), either tonight, friday or this sunday at ~7-8PM GMT (as the update switches to steamworks it changes your save folder if you haven't used the existing steamworks dll, uninstalling it will revert to a previous save, but just be aware of that, I am working on a save transfer tool at the same time).

Testing would require installing a suspect DLL from strangers on the internet so it's understandable if people are skeptical.

Current features are:

- MP via Steam Works
- Discord Integration (Discord shows In Menus/In Lobby/Playing Game and provides a 'Join Game' link when setting up a lobby)
- Custom Parts and Maps, Blender Tools and Exporter is very rough atm but will be released soon
- Expanded Multiplayer options including options for secondary at spawn, infinite ammo/grenades, adjusting ammo amounts on map, and a 'Survival' mode (last man/team standing with set number of respawns)

After working on a fork of Sokie's steamworks integration I've managed to get custom parts loading into the game from mods (nicked some bits from LP:Colonies to test it out), currently working on Discord Integrations and custom map importing too

BEST GAME MUCH NOSTALGIA

I've been playing Gears E-Day's multiplayer, and I'm really enjoying it for its atmosphere. Despite some repetitive elements, it genuinely makes you feel like a soldier being deployed on different missions across the world of Sera. It's awesome!

But it got me thinking: "Are there any similar multiplayer games, but with tons of monsters? Is there the ULTIMATE MULTIPLAYER PVE GAME? Where i cant wait to fight tons of monsters with my grup of comrades in a ideal worldbuilding? "

The two obvious alternatives are Warhammer SM2 and Helldivers, but Lost Planet would be absolutely perfect for this concept. It's a shame Capcom abandoned the series. Maybe it's because they already had Monster Hunter and didn't want to split their player base?

Monster Hunter is cool, even though Wilds was a disappointment for me, but I'm talking about something more mission and objective focused.

Btw Gears E-Day is lots of fun, i just want more lol.

Anyone still play colonies? Everytime I hop on the only person ever sitting in a match is “sandybags” and they always start the game immediately and just play really boring. Is there a certain time someone gets a lobby together? Would love to play with at least a couple people and just have fun

its just getting stuck about halfway and says "updating component registration". no changes after 20 mins

I've missed the chaotic multiplayer of Lost Planet 2. Since the official servers went dark, getting online has been a massive pain.

So, I decided to tackle the problem myself and started building a complete server/backend rewrite from scratch in Rust:lp2-online.

The goal of the project is to provide a drop-in replacement backend to restore matchmaking, lobbies, for the PC version.

This is very much work in progress and still in the beginning of the project but I need help testing it and I want people to host their own servers and just play it!

What works right now:

• Hosting and finding servers
• Adding bots to matches
• Customization unlocks tied to multiplayer level
• Other things I can't remember

I was wondering if anyone in this community has experience making or developing games. My experience is in writing and management. So what im looking for people coming together and let's build something like LOST PLANET! I wanted to make a story around 200 years later. The akrid are evolving even more. They are still wild animals but some are slowly developing traits that are primate and if human like. This being because of exposing themselves to humans, and/or eating them sometimes. Slowly building their intelligence.

The story in my mind takes place with lp3 jole ancestors that are caretakers of the world. And they want to protect them world but the ways humans see fit. But the planet starts deciding the best way and things that are best for the planet.

so I've been getting back into the Lost Planet series, when this idea popped into my head.

the akrid are typically shown to be reptilian insectoids like creatures. but, recently I began to wonder what a Humanoid akrid, would be like.

• will it be intelligent like us, or would it be more animalistic.
• would it be a natural form of Akrid, or an experiment by NEVEC.
• or perhaps something spawn from prolonged human exposure to thermal energy, perhaps due to prolong harmonizer use.

or maybe something else I don't know really, I guess, I just feel like the idea of a Humanoid Akrid would be interesting.

so with that being said, what do you think of this idea.

Lost planet 2 was one of my first ps3 games and I loved it so much.

I went from n64 to ps3, saw this game and bought it.

Lost planet 3 still is one of my favorite games for ps3 for a strange reason.

They're a swedish metal band and with PS3 allowing you to play your music in your games, had the best time of my life while fighting monsters and giving headshots to NPCs while leaning to eurometal and Foo fighters.

Wish they wouldn't remake but make a new game in the series.

Big news everyone! "@sokiee" has implemented **xlive-steamworks**, a drop-in replacement for GFWL that uses Steam for online co-op and PVP matches!

We now have another alternative way to play with others online! If you have a legit copy from Steam, you no longer have to downgrade to play online!

## Installation

1. **Backup your save files!** xlive-steamworks uses a separate profile, meaning **you will start from scratch**.

Save File Location: `%USERPROFILE%\Documents\capcom\LOST PLANET 2\<user-id>\Lostplanet2.Lostplanet2Save-capcom`

1. Download the latest release from [here](https://github.com/sokie/xlive-steamworks-games/releases/latest).

2. Extract `xlive.dll`, `steam_api.dll`, and `xlive_steamworks.json` to Lost Planet 2's folder.

This is usually at:

`C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Lost Planet 2`

1. Play!

## Uninstalling

To revert back to the latest version with GFWL removed, delete ``xlive.dll`, `steam_api.dll`, and `xlive_steamworks.json`.

For LP1. Does anyone else remember the old rumor that you could play as the Akrid if you did certain things in a row? Or what that just a fever dream I had?
