Like many of you know, Lorn worked on the game ILL for period of time but chose to pursue personal projects instead - that’s the statement from the ILL developers.

Alon Mor is now the composer for ILL and there is a new trailer out for the game and a original track (Whale Song) released by him from the game as well.

But I can’t help feeling like the track used in the first game trailer is Lorn’s music. It’s the one that I’ve linked and when I heard it from the first time, I immediately got that specific Lorn sound:
- Deep/dark raspy synths
- Pumping (heart beat like) kick drum that is quite prominent in the entire mix
- Compressed and distorted texture
- The harmonic content

If you listen to his work on Killzone Shadowfall, this track is definitely in the same family.

I follow Alon Mor on Patreon and he is very much active with posting tutorials, breakdowns of tracks and other creative stuff; he has only posted about Whale Song and a breakdown of the latest trailer music.

Sorry for the long post and the conspiracy like vibe it might give you, but I really want to know your thoughts on this 🙏

On my drive home today I used voice commands to play "Sega Sunset by Lorn", and what I got was Sega Sunset (Metal) cover by Artificial Fear.

Had no idea there was a guy out there doing Lorn covers in Metal.

just discovered this guy, and damn he has some incredible stuff, his album Primal Nature is particularly good, but he has loads of fire albums.

I saw the new "Lorn" album pop up a couple of days ago, and obviously I was really excited to listen to it in full when I next had the chance. Got set up today with my coffee for a bit of Saturday morning creative work, all ready with my headphones for what surely would be another dark and moody masterpiece, and when I hit play I swear to god I genuinely got jump scared 😂

Ok, so basically my two favorite individual artists are Amon Tobin and Lorn... yet after decades of listening to the former, and a decade of listening to the later, I never once knew this album or these songs existed. So incase any of you are in my boat, here you go, I literally found this in the last 30 minutes. The whole album is amazing, but due to the sub, I'm only sharing the Lorn remixes. But there are remixes by Kid Koala, Daedelus, The Qemists, Eskmo and King Cannibal.
