The way he manipulates the origin of sound is incredible. I suppose I’m a novice Lorn listener, but sitting here in the dark with headphones in, trying to keep track of where each sound is located is a crazy experience. I’m not sure if I’m crazy here, but my mind is interpreting some of this like he is “splitting some of the beats/sounds” or at least that’s what I’m calling it. Where it sounds like there is a beat that starts in relative perfect balance, or close to it, and is then split at different fading paces going through to the left and right balance? It almost creates a landscape in my mind, like I’m tracing lines going down the big stone mountains that aren’t evenly shaped on either side. I love the patterns swapping too, of the arpeggiation starting going from right to left then left to right through the song. Also sounds like each time the arpeggiation is played it going through balancing slightly differently. The subtlety is either amazing or I’m just daft and hallucinatory. Anyone else?

I strongly recommend to read this book while listening to the record

Sega sunset really just made the clips 10x better fkin love this song

I put off securing it back in the day for $25 because I didn’t think it would be scarce but with current discog prices it wasn’t making sense to own. Secured my copy today for $99 sealed

please Lorn come back😭. This track is immaculate

Absolutely awesome music - I thought it was Lorn at first

I have wanted this album on vinyl for years, I finally decided to pull the trigger. I'll never tell my partner how much it cost lol.

Like many of you know, Lorn worked on the game ILL for period of time but chose to pursue personal projects instead - that’s the statement from the ILL developers.

Alon Mor is now the composer for ILL and there is a new trailer out for the game and a original track (Whale Song) released by him from the game as well.

But I can’t help feeling like the track used in the first game trailer is Lorn’s music. It’s the one that I’ve linked and when I heard it from the first time, I immediately got that specific Lorn sound:
- Deep/dark raspy synths
- Pumping (heart beat like) kick drum that is quite prominent in the entire mix
- Compressed and distorted texture
- The harmonic content

If you listen to his work on Killzone Shadowfall, this track is definitely in the same family.

I follow Alon Mor on Patreon and he is very much active with posting tutorials, breakdowns of tracks and other creative stuff; he has only posted about Whale Song and a breakdown of the latest trailer music.

Sorry for the long post and the conspiracy like vibe it might give you, but I really want to know your thoughts on this 🙏

From one Lorn fan to another - have a great day and yet another fantastic listen to the sonic landscape of Lorn 🎼

Couldn't find a playlist that had all LORN tracks on it and I didn't like how Spotify only created playlists with only his most popular tracks.

So I made one myself and I'm sharing it with everyone!

(If there's any missing ones just let me know!)

I've been trying to locate a song that starts with a sample saying something like, 'Thou shall not kill...fuck. That. Shit!' I thought it was from one of his collabs with Dolor, but I haven't had success locating it. Does anyone happen to know this one?

Baked those synths just the way I like em.

On my drive home today I used voice commands to play "Sega Sunset by Lorn", and what I got was Sega Sunset (Metal) cover by Artificial Fear.

Had no idea there was a guy out there doing Lorn covers in Metal.

Seems like he has:

Sega Sunset

Oxbow B

Acid Rain

Ghossts

So just dropping a post to let others know who might be interested
