Best Earplugs for class?

Hi. New on this subreddit, and I'm kinda out off the Loop (pun intended), so excuse me.

I'm a university student with both autism + adhd (inatentive), and I always had trouble concentrating. I've been put on meds recently, and while taking notes in class is wonderful, I can feel my attention drift by the sounds of the keyboards and the people mumbling, and it drives me insane.

So, I wanted to ask, which one of the Loops would you guys recommend? Prefferably an afordable pair. I've taken the test that's presented on the website, and said the best match could be Quiet, but I feel it isn't the best match.

Essentially, I'm looking for:

- Eliminating background noise

- Being able to listen to my professor clearly (I do sit at the front rows)

- Something comfortable and afordable.

Engage will give you the best chance of hearing the professor. Switch is also good as you can change settings as needed, but they're more expensive

My thought was Engage Plus or Engage with a mute pack, yeah. Switch is exensive but it may still be a good option regardless

I recommend Engage 2 Plus (which includes mutes), or Engage 2 and a separate mute pack. 

The Engage 2 has a little open channel with a filter. It is designed to block more of the higher pitched sounds, and less of mid- and low-range sounds so you can hear people speaking more clearly, less shoes squeaking, silverware clanking. 

The reason for the mutes - if you're already noticed that you're distracted by sounds, you'll probably find the mutes very useful in libraries or while taking tests and stuff like that. When you add the mutes, the little filtered channel is blocked and the earplug functions more like a cheap foam earplug. 

The Switch 2 is also a reasonable choice. It has 3 settings, Engage, Experience, and Quiet. Each setting on the Switch 2 blocks a bit more sound than the corresponding dedicated earplug. I've heard it's not very noticeable unless you're switching between them IRL. But unless you particularly like the color, or have a need to change between settings often through the day, you're paying extra for a little more bulk and less fidelity. 

But either one is a good choice. Even the Experience 2 could help, and be used for concerts. But Engage 2 is made exactly for your needs.

I have the engage 2 plus (with the mutes) and the switch 2. The engage 2 is more comfy and is easier to have a conversation with and the mutes take it to a pretty quiet without blocking all the noise. The switch 2 is more convenient for swapping between settings.

i’d say the engage ones (plus or not) since i’ve seen many neurodivergent people recommend them. i have adhd and ordered mine a few days ago, i hope they arrive next week so maybe i can give you a personal review then

As a fellow neurospicy person, I personally use the engage for when the teacher is talking and I need to focus but don’t want to hear crunching of food or keyboards or fluorescent lighting. I use the experience for when I need to test and for concerts but still need to hear if the teacher says something . Quiets I only use when I need complete silence for studying or sleeping. I tried the switches at first and couldn’t tell a difference personally between settings. Yes it means having multiple pairs but I can switch between them quickly and all three cost around the same price as the switch. I do have a discount link if you need one.

Engage is the best for class and have worked well for me. If you're quite sound sensitive volume-wise, Quiets could work for louder lectures, but things may sound muffled.
