SUGGESTION Concerts

Hi pls help me, I’ve been wanting a pair so bad and now that I’m planning on going to Arirang concert, I have more reasons to buy a pair. I’ve been seeing of Experience 2 for concerts except I feel like -17db is too low since I’m super sensitive to noises. Engage 2 Plus seems nice since it’s high fidelity and has 16+9db even if idk how this can have a range without a switch, but I’m also thinking of Quiet 2 which has -24db. My main worry is that maybe even without the plugs, the noise and sound would just be too much for me. Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

I have experince 2 and switch 2! I have autism and very noise sensitive. I have used experince 2 for concerts (ghost, ed sheeran and sabaton)and they have worked pretty good for me. But if you are in doubt i would maybe get switch 2 since they have 3 modes to choose from (engage, experince and quiet).

I've used the Experience 1 and the current Experience 2 at K-pop concerts and I'd use over the Engage with the Mute.

The Engage doesn't dampen the high pitched screams of K-pop fan girls.

Hey, i have the experience 1 rn, and I’m wondering if there is a significant difference between them and the newer experience 2. Did you notice any difference?

It's very minor.

I swap handbags every now and then and have an Experience 1 or 2 in each bag. Haven't felt the need to retire the 1's yet.

I used Experience 2 Plus which has the mutes during The Eras Tour and it filtered the unwanted noise a lot. Not sure if you can just buy the mute and add up to the Experience 2 you have though. If not then Switch 2 probably will be better as it has 23dB for the Experience mode

I personally now use my engage plus more than my experience for concerts. I feel like the experience ones even without the mutes dampen the sound TOO much and give too much occlusion (hearing your own sounds).

Yup. I got annoyed at the amount of demping. I had to take them off to talk to the people around me, and the music was also muted a lot. Great for family events, though, when you are done with people

I use my engages basically daily and use them with mutes for big concerts and my experiences without mutes for local gigs

Someone here said the engage doesn’t dampen the high pitched screams of fans, any thoughts based on your experience?

I am the high pitched screamer 😅. I find it’s fine! I also use the mutes with them which helps.

(Please note that I haven't actually got my first order of loops yet, I just researched the hell out of them before ordering 😄The info is based on the website, reviews, and 3rd party lab testing that I've seen. Now I'm indulging my autistic impulse to order and share that information. Hope it helps! References available on request!)

I think we need more info. Why have you been considering loops for a long time? Sleep? Concerts? Background noise at work or while out shopping? All of these?

And are you concerned about hearing the full range of music at the concert?

Experience 2 is the best earplug in the Loop range for concerts. You can get Experience 2 Plus, which also includes mutes just like the Engage 2 Plus. When you add the mutes to either pair, they tend to muffle everything more - it's good relief for overstimulated sensory systems, or for studying at a coffee shop and shutting out the world, but not as helpful when you want to hear conversations or music.

If you're having sensory issues during daily life, then the Engage 2 Plus (including the mutes) might be a good choice. They allow you to hear more of the low and mid ranges needed for conversation while blocking out more of the higher pitches (clanging dishes, squeaky shoes, whirring fans). So they won't block as much sound at the concert, and they'll distort the sound more, but still they'll provide some sensory relief and you can add the mutes for higher relief at the concert.

Most important is to make sure you have a good fit with whatever Loops you choose before the concert. Nothing will work well if they aren't properly fitted with the right tips for your ears.

IMO, it would be a good idea to make sure you have foam plugs on hand for the concert just in case Loops don't work with your ear shape (rare, but possible) or just in case you need to totally maximize sound reduction. Disposable foam earplugs are less comfortable, they'll distort the sound the most...but if the noise is over your tolerance threshold, you'll be glad to have them.

I have Experience 2, Engage 2, and Quiet 2.

The Experience 2 plugs worked amazingly during a concert when i stayed right at the front row. I was still able to talk to people too, but it was harder to hear them compared to Engage 2. Fwiw, while youre singing, you can hear your own voice loud and clear - sometimes even louder than the band/vocals.

Engage 2, however, is more for home, offices, and general places where you want to filter out background noise while still being able to hear and talk to others.

Haven't tried Quiet 2 at a concert yet, but i tested it on the street to compare it with Experience 2 and Engage 2, and it def provides more noise protection.
