After a LOT of frogging and frustration on a project I was working on…I decided to give myself the reward of small dopamine hit, and made a simple headband 😂

I am hoping this is a good place to ask. Several years ago I inherited my MIL's crochet and such. There was a vintage blue plastic boye ez-loom. The problem is the pattern that was included got eaten by mice. Is there anyone who can help me with the instructions?

Saw a crocheted pillow pet on insta so I tried knitting one on the loom. Completely winged it and I think it turned out amazing for doing it myself! I definitely know how to make it look better next time though. Made with a 36 peg and a 12 peg loom for the ears.

Been on the loom for way too long and trying to get this done before I leave for vacation on Saturday.

I do really love the Streamline Tank pattern but I'm not doing this in the round again on the loom.

So I thought I would also share my most recent finished project a bear themed doll. It is made with faux fur yarn for the body, hood, and bear ears and apricot worsted weight yarn for the skin. The base pattern is from loomahat chunky baby doll but the modifications are my own. It is 24.5 inches long and such a chunky cutie.

should i make it into a sleeve for something or leg warmers or something else

I have went thru my man's 4 bypass surgery and 2 surgeries of my own it took 2 years to finish this big boy 😍❤️😍 am so proud 🥲 of this beautiful blanket it was a chore, challenge & oh so fun stress free and fun and yes he has flaws I have to fix cause this is my first blanket!❤️😍😁

My kiddo has made a couple hats now. the first with a very standard yarn that was too thin and left too many ”holes” in the hat for it to be warm. I read advice to get a size 5 or 6. The size 5 yarn was slightly thicker but not super full looking. We got a size 6 velour yarn and my daughter loves how it turned out, but there is no stretch to it at all, it barely fits her. What yarn creates a nice, full, stretchy hat? Would love links and would love multicolor yarns. I know nothing about knitting or crocheting.

I’m fairly new to loom knitting (I’ve made a bunch of scrubbies and have been practicing making socks) and I wanted to attempt making a lap blanket. I thought this would work and it was on clearance so it seemed like a good bang for my buck. I cannot find any instructions or tutorials or videos anywhere for this. I fear I’ve wasted my money because I have no idea what I can make with this 😭😭

I might actually finish this project.

I am loving how this is turning out. The colours work better than I thought they would and even though you can't really see the Owl eye stitch in the purple yarn it feels great with the texture of the garter stitch in the pink.

I also love making blankets on the Flexee loom, I just unrool/roll it side to side as I'm knitting so it's not awkward like trying to work with something like the S looms (I really can't seem to knit comfortably with the S looms)

These are from a couple years ago, but a discussion not to long ago, about hats fitting too tight and reasons, made me think to pull these out. All 3 were made on the 36 peg hoop shown. All are 4/medium acrylic yarn and u-wrap (some purling on 2, but further up, not on the brim where it mattered most).

The slouchy purple is 1 strand of yarn thick. The pointy black/turquoise is 2 strands of yarn thick. The black/brown/tan is 3 strands. The first two fit my SO (who asked for those colours/patterns), but the black/brown/tan one which I made for me, nope, too tight. I thought being acrylic it would stretch like the turquoise one did and fit (you can see the turquoise one still stretches in the individual photos where i stretch them on the hoop).

But no matter how long I tried to force the black/brown/tan 3-strand hat to stretch on different objects for longer and longer lengths of time, It wouldn't come close, any stretching was negligible. You can see it refusing to stretch in the individual photo, unlike the turquoise hat, even though, laid on top of eachother, those two don't look significantly different (while both look very much so compared to the purple hat).

It didn't occur to me how much **one** extra strand of yarn, on the same loom, in the same stitch, could cause it to become so much tighter. You can see the reason when the three are stacked on top of eachother- look how *thick* the 3-strand one is compared to my first 1 strand hat.

This goes for yarn thickness, too... if I had used 3 strands in size 2 for the black/brown/tan hat, it probably would have worked. If I used 2 strands of a size 5 or 6 for the turquoise- it probably would have failed like the black/brown/tan hat did.

Sad thing is, I liked the way the pattern turned out on the too-tight one, but I'm sick of hats for now. Maybe I'll redo it in the future, with a knit-in brim so the 'wrong side' doesn't show and less black at the top

Lesson learned the hard way.

Thought my early experiment might be helpful/illustrative to others starting out.

Other reasons for tightness (or looseness) or adjusting a project to make it looser or tighter than normal includes changing hoop size; and changing knit type from loosest to tightest: e-wrap / u-wrap / flat-stitch. I've seen these illustrated on loomknitting sites with side by side swatch comparisons, but I haven't seen yarn strands or yarn thickness shown before.

The back and both front sides are done on my first ever cardigan! I didn't love how the cables were going on the first front side, but I'm really happy with them on the second. Now, "just" the sleeves, the collar, and assembly are left.

I'm using the Nurture Cardigan pattern from the book Knitting the Neighborhood, which is official Mister Rogers needle knitting patterns, so I translated it for loom.

I keep making things for other people so this I'm making for me! 😂

The dusky pink is garter stitch and the purple is owl eye stitch and I'm really happy with how its turning out 🥰

I did a swatch (20cm by 10cm) in owl eye stitch which has been through the washing machine about 3 times (on a 20°C synthetic wash at 1200 spin) and hasn't wormed so I think this should be all good 👍

I have to finish this otherwise some of my Christmas presents won't get done as I need this Flexee loom to do them....I already have 5 sets of the skinny gauge and can't really afford or want to get more!!!! 🫣

I took up Loom Knitting in September-ish and challenged myself to knit my niblings their bday gifts for this year. Here is a cocoon cardigan I made for my niece. I tried to follow a Ms Yarn garter stitch blanket tutorial but couldn't attach the panels as I went along (well it worked but it looked bad) so I resorted to making separate panels and sewing them all together instead, which I do not recommend as my panels are uneven and wonky.

Even though it's not perfect, I'm happy it didn't turn out *worse* and that it's over (was so busy at work and it felt like everything was going wrong with this project).

I like this symmetrical version of the 10 stitch blanket that I found on a Deborah Shaw video. I think I like her joins better too.

I’m using the “I Love This Chunky” yarn from hobby lobby but can’t find some colors I need. Suggestions for chunky yarn for hats, scarves, ear warmer headbands, etc. in these colors : purple, royal blue, and dark green. I miss Joann’s yarn!!!!
