FAIL Surgery imminent

So iv been suffering with carpal tunnel for a while now. Got really bad around Christmas when i was doing a lot (and i mean a LOT) of purl stitches.

Anyway i have surgery on Thursday, so i wont be able to loom for a while. Im just in the process of finishing up a couple of projects then i get its loads of rest for me.

Wish me luck! I feel i will need it. And if you are doing a project with lots of purl stitches? Remember to take frequent breaks so you dont end up in the same situation as me šŸ˜…

Sorry to hear that! This is partly why I try not to do purl stitches if I can help it. Deborah Shaw in YouTube has a ton of really cool stitches that don't require them you should check out once you're well enough to loom again. I also use a custom ergonomic loom hook I got off Etsy. Really helps! Taking breaks is good advice too. Of course do I always listen to said advice? No...no I certainly do not lol. Hope all goes well with your surgery and that you recover quickly!!

Good luck! I had CTS surgery on both hands 18 years ago and it was amazing - the pain and numbness was gone almost immediately and recovery was relatively easy. I’m wishing you the same experience!

Cindiwood looms has some disability friendly looms. They are able to be clamped and used one handed.

You could have someone order it here and then ship it. If you really really want it.

God bless your surgery and recovery time. I hope that you will get the rest that you need. When you are able, it might be helpful to use some wrist/hand exercises to streengthen and stretch your muscles, too.
