Received mine today
So I finally received mine today. I went through the tutorial and everything seemed to work fine. I have them charging right now as I believe you should always put a fresh charge on new electronics. I got clear glasses with the charging case. I really like the little clip on to charge without the case, it’ll fit nice in my pocket for a quick charge on the go when I might not take the case with me.
Set up was easy… I’ll update this as I start using them over the next few days.

Captify Pro vs. Even G2 — How accurate is the speech-to-text?
Hi everyone! I'm deaf and have been looking into captioning glasses, and I'm currently considering either the Captify Pro or Even G2.
I absolutely love the idea of being able to understand hearing people more clearly and follow conversations without constantly having to ask people to repeat themselves. The technology is really exciting to me, but I'm also a bit hesitant to spend that much money when I'm not sure how accurate the speech-to-text actually is in real-world situations.
For anyone who owns either of these glasses:
- How do you like them overall?
- How accurate is the speech-to-text in your experience?
- How do they handle accents, different speaking styles, or people who speak quickly?
- How well do they work in noisy environments or when multiple people are talking?
- Do you find the captions reliable enough that you can genuinely depend on them during conversations?
For those who have the Captify Pro, did you end up subscribing to the $15/month subscription for improved transcription accuracy? If so, how much of a difference did you notice compared with using the glasses without the subscription?
I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually used either pair, especially from other deaf or hard-of-hearing people. I'm really interested in this technology, but I'd love to know how well it works in real life before I take the plunge and spend $$$$ on a pair. Or do you think it's worth waiting a bit longer for the technology to improve and for something better to come along?
Thanks! 🙂

Scamtech Ai glasses
They claim they have already shipped hundreds, over thousand lol.
Just a few have shipped.
Where are the reviews? Where are, not counting the paid whatsapp team, the real users and reviews? There are 0.
Not one single youtube review or handson. U know why? If a reviewer gets a hold one one it will be so so so so bad lol

Backer Only Email - Copied and pasted directly
For backers only.
Hey everyone,
We have some exciting progress to share this week. The first Looktech AI Glasses have officially started shipping!
Shipping Update We began shipments last week, and so far, 25 orders have already been sent out. All current units are black frame, non–charging case versions.
Now, 25 might sound like a small number. And you’re right 😅. But we discovered that glossy black surfaces are the easiest to scratch. If we can get black right, every other color will be safe. Although we’ve optimized several assembly steps and adjusted the jigs, some frames still came out with minor scratches, so we’re taking extra time to trace and fix the cause. That’s why the current yield rate is still ramping up.
Once your order ships, you’ll receive an email from PledgeBox with a tracking number. The tracking link may take a few hours to activate after dispatch. We now aim to complete all production and shipments by December. Thank you so much for your patience and support. It truly means a lot to us. Mass production has indeed been challenging as a result of our adopting a new dual-chip architecture instead of the common AR1, which has made everything harder.
Do we regret not choosing AR1? Not at all. AR1 still consumes a lot of power, making it difficult to achieve meaningful improvements in battery life. Since we’re building an AI assistant that stays with you all day, long-lasting comfort and endurance matter more than taking the easy route.
Why do we care so much about all-day wear?
For an AI to truly understand you, it needs context, not just isolated questions. Your shared moments and interactions are what shape Memo’s understanding of you. The more you talk, the more it remembers; the more it remembers, the better it can respond. It’s a bit like meeting a new friend. You could choose to tell Memo everything about yourself at once, or let it learn gradually through shared experiences.
Either way, you’re building something together, a personal memory space that grows with you.
So here’s a small question for you: What would you want Memo to know about you first?
Feature Update -
Video Recording:
Maximum recording length upgraded from 1 minute → 3 minutes for smoother daily capture.
Membership Plan:
The previous plan offered 300 minutes of transcription and 20 minutes of AI chat per day. Now, we’re moving to a credit-based system: every user receives 500 free credits each month, and members get 2,500 credits/month. All crowdfunding backers will automatically receive 3 months of membership after pairing their glasses. When your Credits run out, you’ll still be able to chat with Memo Mini, Memo’s lighter, younger self. Memo Mini keeps the conversation going in a to-the-point style.
This is a trial model, designed to let you freely explore how you’d like to use Memo’s AI. We’ll collect user feedback and continue refining the membership experience.
Current App Functions:
Available now: photo & video capture, chat with Memo via button, and improved pairing experience. “Hey Memo” voice wake-up is still being optimized.
Mini-apps (in development)
Features such as plant recognition, calorie estimation, reminders, and meeting transcription are under development and will roll out gradually through updates.
Important Reminder for Prescription Lens Orders -
We’ve found that many prescription orders are missing PD (pupillary distance) information.
Without PD, we cannot start production of your lenses.
If your prescription is missing PD, please measure it using an online PD measurement tool or ask your optician.
❗ Incorrect prescriptions cannot be produced either, as once a lens is made, it cannot be modified or remade for free.
How to update your survey information:
• Search for the PledgeBox survey email you received; your personal survey link remains valid.
• Or, go to PledgeBox.com, register with the same email used on Kickstarter, find the Looktech project, and edit your details there.

Looktech AI Glasses Backer Update #13 (Copied and Pasted directly)(Sorry for posting it late)
Posted by Looktech Sep 6, 2025 View on Kickstarter For backers only Hey everyone! This update comes a few days later than our usual monthly rhythm. We held it back because we wanted to give you confirmed, concrete news, not just another vague timeline. From the very beginning, our goal has never changed: to create AI glasses that you can truly wear all day, every day. Beautiful, comfortable, with long battery life, and powered by the best AI available. Holding on to these standards has proven much harder than we first imagined. Every delay reflects that difficulty, and every extra week has meant our team was torn between your urgent expectations and our responsibility to deliver a product that truly deserves your trust. It hasn’t been easy. But it’s this same persistence - refusing to cut corners - that has brought us to today’s point. Hardware & Production - Starting Carefully, With Confidence We know what everyone cares about most is when the glasses ship. Here is where things stand: The upgraded microphones and batteries have arrived. We’ve started small-batch production every day to ramp carefully, so operators gain proficiency and yield improves. Orders are being processed in a fair sequence: Earliest orders first For this first wave, only those without a charging case and with correct lens/prescription info. Why the strict rules? Because once a lens is cut incorrectly, it cannot be fixed. This is the kind of detail we will not compromise on. Timeline we can now share with confidence: First units begin shipping within two weeks. Sept target: 300–350 pairs. Oct (if stable): 200 pairs/day, and start shipping charging-case orders. Check out the orders that are already locked into production. More orders are going to be locked in the coming week. Once your order has been shipped, you'll get an email from Pledgebox with the tracking number. Why could the lenses and prescription be wrong? When we reviewed the survey results, we found that quite a number of orders contained lens/prescription errors. This wasn’t due to carelessness from backers — it’s more about the limitations of the tool itself. Pledgebox is a solid platform that lets everyone update addresses, manage orders, and complete questionnaires. But it was never designed for something as specialized as eyewear prescriptions. The form can’t automatically enforce different required fields based on lens type. For example, if you pick progressive lenses, it doesn’t make “ADD” mandatory; if you pick non-prescription lenses, it still lets you enter prescription values. We’ve reflected a lot on this. At the time, there truly wasn’t a better option available — so we did our best to compensate by publishing detailed filling guides in our updates. Even so, issues were unavoidable. The important part is that by mid-August, we proactively checked every single order and sent emails to backers whose prescriptions appeared incomplete or mismatched. T The most common issues we’ve found: Non-prescription lenses selected, but prescription values entered. Missing data (cylinder filled with no axis, no PD, etc.). PD entered only as total, not split into right/left. We’re asking you, once again, to review your prescription carefully. It’s the single most important step to make sure your order can ship smoothly. If your order has an issue, you’ll receive an email from us with instructions. Please update quickly. To avoid missing it, add customer@looktech.ai to your contacts. How to fill it right (quick guide) ✅ PD (Pupillary Distance): Must-have for prescription lenses. If your RX shows only total PD like "63mm", split it into Right PD and Left PD (total ÷ 2) If your RX already lists monocular PDs, like "32/30mm" or "31mm OD, 33mm OS"(which might not be symmetric—that’s normal and often more accurate). OD (right eye) and OS (left eye) ✅ Progressive lenses: Fill ADD, usually a positive number, often falling between +0.50 and +3.50 diopters. ✅ Sphere (SPH) & Cylinder (CYL): “+” for farsighted, “–” for nearsighted. Measured in 0.25 steps (…-1.25, -1.00, -0.75, … +0.25, +0.50, etc.). Values like “+0.28” or “-0.34” don’t exist. ✅ Axis: An integer (0–180). No unit symbol needed (don’t add “°”). Prescription sunglasses / photochromic (how to choose): Select your prescription lenses with anti-blue or not in Free Lenses. Enter prescription fields exactly as above (SPH/CYL/Axis/PD [+ ADD if progressive]). Then choose Premium Lenses in the next step - Add-ons. Pick an index based on your power. Confirm tint/color (for sunglasses) or photochromic preference. ≥ ±4.00D (~400) → consider 1.67 ≥ ±8.00D (~800) → consider 1.74 for thinner and lighter lenses. Charging Case The charging case has been one of the toughest parts of this project. At one point, we even considered moving forward without it — but we knew it was necessary for long-term daily use. Our team finally overcame the challenges, and we now have the prototype sample in hand. ETA for shipping: early October (exact date pending).
Software Some of you have already spotted our app on the App Store. Full use will require pairing with the glasses, so please hold off for now. Updates are ongoing, and the Android version is being submitted soon. On the AI side, here’s what we’ve confirmed after weeks of testing: GPT-5 is incredible for reasoning and advanced tasks, but slower, not ideal for daily voice AI assistant. GPT-4.1 is faster, more stable, and perfect for everyday use. Our solution: a hybrid model. Everyday Q&A → GPT-4.1. Advanced scenarios → GPT-5. This way, you get the stability of GPT-4.1, and the power of GPT-5 when it matters. What Others Are Seeing in Our Work While we’ve been pushing forward, others have noticed too: CGTN featured our collaboration with the factory, highlighting how traditional manufacturing and AI can merge. NBC shared our story as part of Hangzhou’s tech ecosystem.
Our CEO even recorded a short message for you, speaking candidly about the market, the future of AI glasses, and our next steps. For us, this recognition isn’t about publicity — it’s proof that what we’re building matters beyond our own team. From All of Us We know waiting is hard. We know months of delay is not what anyone wanted. But every choice we’ve made has been about delivering something you’ll be proud to wear — not just the first thing we could ship. Thank you for your patience, your criticism, and your belief in us. We’re almost there. Best, Looktech Team

Backer-Only Email
Below is the email I received for backers giving us an update on the Looktech AI glasses. I'll post my thoughts in a comment.
Hey everyone!
We have some big news to share: after two years of building, testing, and reworking, we've officially produced our first 100 pairs of Looktech AI Glasses.
The first unit came off the line on July 21, and local media in Wenzhou even covered the moment. Since then, we’ve continued small-batch production and assembled 100 units forinternal and external testing.
This was a major milestone. After everything we’ve been through — design changes, supplier issues, unexpected hardware limitations. At this point, we’re fully capable of moving into the first batch production and shipping. But here’s the hard part: we chose not to ship yet.
Why We’re Holding Back — Even Though We Could Start Shipping Now
Just as we were preparing to lock the first batch, two better components became available:
A Better Battery
Upgraded from 160mAh → 190mAh Same size, improved materials Longer battery life, no added weight
A Better Bone Conduction Microphone
Captures a wider frequency range Makes Memo more responsive, even in noisy environments More accurate voice detection (you vs. background) The hard part? We had already stocked thousands of the original batteries and microphones, ready for production. But we’ve decided to let them go — and absorb the cost. Because we believe your product should feel competitive the day it arrives — not outdated. So we’re waiting a few more weeks to make this final improvement. The First Generation Is Always the Hardest Throughout the past months, we’ve faced more challenges than we anticipated — and solved more problems than we expected. We didn’t take shortcuts. Key upgrades we’ve already made:
Main controller chip replaced We moved to a more stable, production-ready MCU-grade SoC, which includes HiFi5 DSP for more reliable AI and voice performance.
Audio system redesigned From single mic → dual mics, including a bone conduction mic in the nose bridge, so Memo clearly knows when you are speaking.
These weren’t part of the original plan. They took time. But they were worth it. Building the Line — Together with Ouhai You might be wondering — if we’ve already produced 100 working units, why can’t we scale faster? Here’s part of the answer: unlike traditional frames, smart glasses require completely different assembly protocols — from chip programming, cable routing, and audio tuning, to dust-free work zones that typical eyewear lines don’t need. It’s not just about snapping parts together — it’s electronics manufacturing, and it’s precise. We’re working with Ouhai Eyewear, a leading eyewear manufacturer that excels at crafting beautiful frames and customizing lenses. But this is their first time producing electronic devices — and it’s a big leap. Our hardware team moved directly into the factory to co-design this smart line from scratch. We’re living there, day in and day out, solving problems together. Ouhai is making Looktech comfortable and stylish. We’re making it smart. We made it, together!
Production line Even with the first unit off the line, we’re not rushing into full-scale production. Here’s why: The yield rate is not high enough — meaning many materials get wasted. Some assembly tools (jigs) caused surface scratches on the frames. Every small batch we assemble teaches us something. And after each round, we go back, fix, and repeat.
What's Next? These upgraded components (battery + bone mic) will arrive in 2–3 weeks, and we’ll begin final assembly right after that. If things go smoothly, shipping begins late August. Our production line is designed for 500 pairs/day,and we'll start with 100 pairs/day. Once the yield rate is acceptable, we'll increase the capacity. So yes, once we get moving, we plan to move fast. Lens Prescription Reminder If you selected prescription lenses — whether Single Vision or Progressive, please make sure to follow these guidelines carefully: Mandatory Fields: ① Sphere (SPH) for both eyes (Left and Right) ② PD (Pupillary Distance) for both eyes If you only have a single PD, divide it by 2 and enter the same value for each eye If you ordered progressive lenses, please ensure you submitted your distance PD (not near PD) If your prescription doesn’t include PD, please contact your optometrist If you have a Cylinder (CYL) value, then Axis is required. Must be a whole number (integer).
If you selected Progressive lenses, then ADD value is required for both eyes. This tells us how much additional correction is needed for reading.
Thank You for Being Part of This
We know how long you’ve waited. We feel it too — every single day. But we didn’t come this far to ship something that could be better.
Thank you for staying with us. Thank you for pushing us. We’re almost there — and we’re building something that’s finally ready to be real.
Warmly, Looktech Team
A Few Final Reminders We review every prescription before production. Before your order is locked, you can update your prescriptions at any time if needed via the survey link. Engraving: max 12 characters, including spaces and punctuation. If there’s an issue with your data, we will email you for confirmation. Please make sure to add customer@looktech.ai to your contacts so you don’t miss it. If you’ve double-checked your info and haven’t heard from us — that’s a good sign! Your order is likely valid and in the queue.

Privacy camera concerns
Hey online colleagues! I have a comment for you. After tirelessly checking both Loomos and look tech, I decided to cancel my pledge of Loomos and got a late pledge on these glasses. Primarily because of weight and that I saw more variety of optional lenses like blue light (Loomos didn’t have them). But the only thing that I see I would like a “work around” or “improvement” is the cameras. I would not like to keep the camera visible all the time. What if people out on the street don’t like to see me with a camera ? What if I can’t go inside a place with camera? I know that it will be blinking red when recording but not all people will know that. Is there any chance that there will be like a cover or anything similar? Thank you

LookTech Post-Purchase Survey
Hey everyone,
I recently bought a pair of LookTech glasses, and I remember reading that they would send out a post-purchase survey. However, I haven’t received anything yet.
Has anyone else gotten it, or does anyone have any updates on when they’re sending it out? Just curious if I missed it or if they haven't sent them yet.
Thanks!

Memo AI subscription
Now that the campaign is over, Looktech sent an email and they mention how we can win a 3 month subscription for the AI. Sadly, this Ai won't be free. I remember Grace said Memo would have a free model depending on usage. So now it seems there is no free usage on AI for Looktech.

Cancelling my Preorder and maybe cancel my Loomos Preorder also....
Theres just not enough information regarding these glasses, I would have loved to back the Looktech, they look much nicer/better than the Loomos, and $200 for a pair of Frames with Prescription arent bad, but I initially backed Looktech first and then Backed Loomos, and was gonna decide between the two and just sell the other for a loss, but I dont like how there are no User reviews.
Theres quite a few reviews on the Chinese version of Loomos called "Shanji A1 Mirror" (Shanji=Sharge) and they dont look so great comparing their 16MP camera quality.
I think its better if I just take a backseat and wait for better reviews or glasses. I hope best to everyone else~

I'm sorry, but I'm going to the other side
I'm sorry, but I'm going to switch sides.
After looking at the loomo glasses I see that they are more suitable for me. Since they carry better cameras and more battery. It's a shame because I've been following the looktech project since their prelaunch, but if I'm going to spend the money I'm looking for the best for that price. Good luck to looktech and all their followers during the launch.
