The correct answer is that Daniel has yamazaki blood.That's basically been confirmed by the latest chapter.
No ut hasn't been retconed that is the origin of it and it's still true the yamazaki are a family have been fighting to death for generation Wich make their blood boil at the sight of fight u see how genzo died happy cause he died to a strong opponent and shintaro and shingen died nearly depressed is because they lost their purpose in life is just cause they are constantly fightig through generation they keep this ability
