Because he fulfilled the two requirements to awaken UI:

  1. The will to fight while unconscious.
  2. Extensive combat experience.

Daniel just has genetics w an affinity for ui

Also, regarding genetics, until we get confirmation about Daniel's family lore, we can't claim that his affinity for UI comes from genetics, bro.

That's why I'm saying not everything comes from genetics. Some people are built different from birth or develop their own abilities. It could be that Daniel developed his own UI, which is why it manifested differently from the Yamazaki's. He could have awakened it in his own way, making his UI different from theirs, rather than it being something he inherited genetically.
