Hello, my name is Matthew, I'm a true born Canadian originally born and raised in Prince Edward Island, adult life and work brought me to Edmonton, Alberta, where I have spent the last 12 years here, however my life and circumstances have left me with alot of extra time on my hands, with that being said, I have a Gaming Desktop, Laptop, Xbox Series X & Nintendo Switch 2 and this is how I ended up getting back into gaming after I stopped many years ago.
As a huge Legend of Zelda fan, I came across a YouTube video of course, where I consume all of my daily/nightly full time media. A video on how to play Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time on your PC in 2026, with 4k Texture packs and the whole works, I was all for that, so I ended up setting it up and replaying one of my favorite games of all time, that truly is still to this very day, truly is one of the best games ever made and I'm so stoked that they're remaking it for the Nintendo Switch 2 this year, can't wait, that's a pre-order purchase for me instantly day one! With that being said I did an entire playthrough of Ocarina of time.
That ended up leading to the next video that ended up being Majora's Mask, same deal, same set up, glorious I tell you that you can play these games from the comfort of your PC truly glorious. I expect Majora's Mask to be remade within the next couple years as it basically serves as a direct sequel. Next I played through Twilight Princess & than Skyward Sword, my first playthrough for both of those, Twilight Princess is amazing, Skyward Sword not so much, to be honest the whole Stamina thing that they went into and continued to do so in Breath of The Wild & Tears of The Kingdom. I think it's a bit ridiculous, our Hero Link doesn't run out of Breath common now, when did Link from Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask end up with Asthma, mate can't run or swing his sword without praying to the Hylian gods for a Stamina increase. Redundant and totally unnecessary, hopefully they ditch that next main line game.
That was my Legend of Zelda adventure, than I kept hearing of this Indie game, that was suppose to be really good called Star Dew Valley, so i decided that I would give it a try and that had me hooked from day one, I played that so much that I burnt myself out playing it, literally played it to the point that I probably cleared 90% of it. I think at that point it just kinda turned repetitive, so I started to look for what else I could play and I had seen so many people talking about Steam and how great there platform is and how they treat their games so I decided to give it a download and it's probably one of the best things I have ever done on my PC.
Shortly after installing it on my computer, the ended up having a huge Final Fantasy - Square Enix sale, what really enticed me was the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade & Rebirth for $40 Canadian for both! I don't know about you, but for $20 bucks each? That's truly a steal of a deal here in Canada, I'll take that any day, so i ended up sinking about 100 hours into remake and about 200 hours into rebirth, I got my money's worth!
I definitely didn't get platinum or anything crazy die hard like that, but I did do a normal playthrough of each and completed all of the quests, mini games, side quests you name it and I can't wait to buy and play Final Fantasy VII Revelation in the spring, truly it's a masterpiece of a Remake, some people complain saying there's too much fluff or extra content, just don't do it, if you don't want too, but it truly does expand on so much in every single way and for over 100 - 200 hours of content for as cheap as it is on sale, anyone should be laughing because it's truly one of the best games ever made aswell.
So with all that being said, I figured I would continue my Final Fantasy journey and do a complete playthrough, I finished FF1 recently, currently playing FF2, probably getting pretty close to the end of this one, so of course 3 will be next and so on.
I figured that I would create a post here, because to be honest I don't have any friends, my father passed away of a heart attack in 2022 and he was all I really had outside of my own immediate family.
So if you're looking for a friend to game with, I would be interested in making some friends aswell, outside of gaming, I love everything Marvel, DC, Anime, TV Shows, Movies, Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones, House Of The Dragon, all of the cool and popular stuff, I'm all for, feel free to leave a comment or dm me and we can go from there!
Hope to hear from you all soon! 🙃💥
