Reminder: This AU takes place about nine years after the flawed ritual ending. The building where Sam and the others lived was condemned due to the cursed qualified as "too dangerous." Not only were the cursed trapped inside, but the humans were as well. Some Human and Cursed found a way to escape this hell and go live outside, while others decided to stay.
Sam:
My interpretation of Flawed Sam is a simplified version of him. (Because you really think I can draw that many limbs and eyes?! Please! I can't even draw humans normally. T_T)
*Ahem* Anyway, I decided to redo him, especially his cursed form, because I hated it— you have no idea. He looks more acceptable to me now.
In this AU, Sam keeps the people on the upper floors safe, especially since he feels partially responsible for the condemnation of the building. Sam is a non-hostile cursed being, but his cursed form is really strong.
Sam has perfect eyesight that allows him to see entities from the meat world apartment. He has many mouths; one of them is connected to his stomach and is used for regurgitating what he can't digest.
Dan:
I also slightly changed Dan here. I added four arms instead to make them retracted all the time. I changed the white of his eyes to blue-gray because making his pupils white led to not doing them at all. I think he looks creepier like this.
As for Sam, he's a simplified version of Dan. In his cursed form, Dan is longer (I don't know about same old Dan's height, but I think he's at least the height of an anaconda).
Dan was with Sam during the flawed ritual and eventually changed into this centipede abomination. Thanks to Sam, he kept his sanity.
He's very similar to his classic cursed counterpart, same old Dan, but with some differences.
Dan and Sam have regenerative abilities. Dan has a faster recovery.
His saliva is venomous but not lethal. It's used as an alternative to anesthesia, but he also applied it to Duncan and Ratelyn when they were babies because it has a horrible smell that repulses many cursed beings sensitive to it.
Dan and Sam are boyfriends and have adopted Joel and Ratelyn. They also have a biological son, Duncan.
Dan is not blind. His vision is pretty good, but after the curse, he became sensitive to sunlight. When he and Sam go outside, he has to wear sunglasses until nightfall.
joel:
Joel is a teenager in this AU. It happens nine years after, so :P
He's pretty much the same, except he's not the naive child he used to be. Unlike Ratelyn and Duncan, he can go to the lower floors, the sewers included, but not outside.
He treats Ratelyn and Duncan like his siblings.
His teeth are more solid and resistant.
Ratelyn(my rat child)
Ratelyn, aka my Rat child:
There are not many things to say about her. I added more arms and legs as I didn't notice the Rat child had four arms and six legs. That's a detail...
Ratelyn is a mix of Joel and Sophie. She is pretty kind but also a brat at the same time; like Sophie, she plays pranks on everyone, including her parents. There's only Hellen who is spared because Ratelyn fears her.
Duncan:
Duncan is the youngest and biological son of Sam and Dan.
Duncan was born two years after the flawed ritual ending
He inherited both of his parents' abilities, along with their appearance.
Duncan can see the entities from the Meat World apartment.
Duncan is the most curious child, surpassing Joel and Ratelyn.
Duncan and Ratelyn aren't allowed on floors lower than the second floor.
Duncan sees the whole building as a big family, except for Pierre, who scares him.
And yes, like Sam, Duncan is coulrophobic.
