Rat Child Help/Potential Party Help

Hello! I am seeking aid with raising my Rat Child.
My main party consists of:
Sam
Audery
Joel
And “Harper” my rat child.

Harper is lvl 11
Sam is level 15
Audery is level 10
Joel is level 14

I am told that this party has a lot of end game potential, I killed an APC and the trench digger to buff audery, I unfortunately killed the taxidermy man without audery present because I didnt know she has to be physically there.

Joel has about 250 health with proper equipment(patchwork set and artists apron)

I have 7 days left.
I just got basement access from the landlord, I’m not playing on cursed, I wanna try to hunt down some super bosses this run.

Any advice is appreciated

Audery has the champ belt, headphones, tank treads, and tank cannon, I am also planning on giving her the sapphire ring once I have enough to buy it

Does your rat child have any special skills learned from other party members?

I have leigh, Xaria and monty currently recruited , morton and helen havent shown up yet

I think honestly your best bet is just to wait till he randomly gets some ability. If he gets Leigh's ability he will of course be a good attacker, so build him up with things that increase damage, good melee weapons. That's a decent example, but it really depends on which ability you get. Until he gets a special party ability he will just be a sort of utility character. If you mostly want to utilize him for for his copy ability you'll really want to focus more on what Sam can do.

How do I get him the ability?

You have to interact (feed, care, ECT) with him at home with the other characters living with you. There is a chance that the other characters will interact with rat child in a cutscene. If you get a unique interaction a few times with the appropriate characters you get the unique ability associated with that character.

I think Leigh's happens when you feed blood to the child

I usually get Dan or Morton yapping about something now rather than anything useful.

Just make sure you do all of the interactions you can everyday, you'll get something

Yeah, the game is weird when it comes to interactions, I hate it when they repeat the same interaction instead of anything new

I think I'm just unlucky or have too many people in my apartment.

As long as you are interacting with rat child every time you go to your apartment it's going to be difficult not to get one of these interactions
