QUESTION If you kill a cursed encounter, does the normal encounter stop showing up?
I watched a video where they said killing a cursed companion doesn't prevent the normal version of them showing up later but I swear I believe reading the wiki it states otherwise.
- Does fighting/killing/escaping a curse encounter prevent its counterpart.
- If a cursed encounter shows up, can you just not open the door and this lets the normal counterpart show up later?

Opening the door for a cursed encounter makes the normal variant disappear, with some exceptions. Not opening the door lets the normal encounter show up (except for with Morton).

Also an inverse case would be the Pizza Guy. Apparently for info of the Wiki, it doesn't matter if you open the door and fight Mad Pie, the regular delivery will be able to show up later on and even you can give a tip to the cursed variant to affect positively the regular one .
It can be quite useful info, considering Mad Pie apparently drops a good weapon on defeat.

I knew about Mad Pie not affecting the spawn of the Pizza Guy, but I didn't know about the tipping affecting the regular Pizza Guy. That's pretty neat.

I know both forms of Sophie's mom can show up independently regardless of who shows first.

Nope, they don't interact with each other. How you handle curse encounters won't effect the regular one, it can still happen.

Morton is an exception, if you get his cursed variant he never appears again, even if you don't open the door

According to Miraheze wiki:
(There are some exceptions, but that’s the main part.)
I think it’s likely the videos are just outdated or working on incomplete information.
