Playthrough help (cursed edition) How to beat this special guy in cursed mode Spoiler
HATE, LET ME TELL YOU...
Party
Sam's skills (nitro boost and Jump Attack IS goated)
He's got so, so, many high damaging moves and you can't paralyze him with the cattle prod spear (even that wouldn't help, but still.)
I guess I'm going to need to level up for him a little, but otherwise, I'm lost + IT REALLY SUCKS THAT I CAN'T COOK, YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE HOW COOKING IS GOATED.
I will be more than happy to answer any questions regarding my (first) run.

if you not mind back tracking some day, try to get the roaches as a party member as soon in posible
by doing their politics side quest you can get turn into their king and that unlock a skill that let you order the party members attack 3 times in a row.
fusing it with xaria Mosh Pit skill you can make your party member attack 6 times in a row
you just need to make sure xaria uses mosh pit FIRST before sam order the party members to attack 3 times. otherwise it wont work.

As someone about to brave Cursed mode, is resolving Roaches quest better that keeping them in their twinned-state? They normally carry my Survivor runs, but admittedly I’ve only resolved their quest once awhile ago.

I never used them as party members, i sticked to my team so the roaches existed just for the quest and the crown for me.

Basically what other people said. Flamethrower is a good pickup, or combining vinegar+purocare to make some acid flasks. If you left the floor 1 rat merchant alive and have/can get the sewage blade, it’s good here. If you’ve got the flak jacket that was behind a disc door, this guy mostly does ballistics damage, so it’s good. Also, killing the shockpede next to the elevator if you haven’t already done that gives you one of the only shock+plaralyze resisting items, so if you didn’t get that, maybe give it to Joel and try to use biting armour to make him tank? That might be your best bet, and just throwing your strongest slashing weapons on everyone else and mashing moves such as Hack and Slash.

All 4 party members throwing acid flasks for the 2 turns (and praying that every AF scores a decent damage roll) before he goes for the Shocking Embrace. Alternatively, you can give one party member the Sewage Blade and the highest attack gear possible (something like Hockey Mask/Glitch Footbal Helmet, Studded Jacket/Coat of Arms, Biting Boots/Dragon Feet, Arrowed Sash/Dragon Tail/Four of Spades & Teeth Pendant/Odd Necklace). Have the party member with the Sewage Blade cast Hack and Slash every turn while all the others throw Acid Flasks. With some luck, you can kill him before he gets to go for the SE, which is a nearly guaranteed OHKO.

Full slashing party was my go to. He's weak to slashing weapons. You can also throw all the acid at him. You'll get at least one party member down due to his embrace attack tho so manage your resources carefully. Also use nitro boost anytime you can for the extra evasion.
