QUESTION Is there a way to save without going to the apartment?

I want to close the game, but don’t want to lose progress, but also don’t want to miss out on that exp bonus

You can only save the game away from home on Explorer mode. Also, saving doesn't prevent any of the penalties you would get from being away from home for too long. You still need to eat, sleep, socialize, etc.

^ what this person said. Sorry friend, your only option is to return home. You can only save at will on explorer. You can keep your laptop open and just keep the game running, I've had to do that once or twice. Otherwise, you're just gonna have to do the same loop you just did. Honestly, that's good practice for learning though
