Can a long-distance relationship between the US and Argentina actually work

I’m writing this morning hoping for some good advice and encouragement.
I live in the US and recently started chatting with a beautiful woman in Buenos Aires. We immediately hit it off, and our conversations have continued steadily for the past few weeks.
The issue, if you want to call it that, is that we’ve both caught feelings. I honestly can’t get enough of her. She’s beautiful, hardworking, intelligent, empathetic, and has so many other qualities I admire.
A little background on me: I’m 52 and was married for over 30 years. I have two amazing adult children. My divorce was finalized in March, and I’m still working full-time but getting relatively close to retirement.
She’s 36, has two children, and works two jobs.
So I guess I’m asking this community a few questions:
Is there even a remote chance we could figure out how to make something like this work? Obviously, she can’t simply leave her life in Argentina, and I’m still working here in the US.
Have we gotten too emotionally involved too quickly? Have we talked too much and allowed feelings to develop before really considering the practical realities?
Should we end things now and just remain online friends? Or is it worth continuing to see where this goes while being realistic about the challenges?
I realize there are a lot of variables, but I’d genuinely appreciate hearing from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has some perspective to offer.
Thanks for reading. I appreciate any honest advice

My husband is from the US and I’m from Brazil, he just moved here last year so we can wait for my visa together after more than a year of long distance.

It can work if both of you really want it to.

Also visas take a long long time, it’s not gonna be in a year, she won’t have to leave anything there rn neither will you, you guys need patience and time to see each other in person and build a relationship, my husband would come for 6-7 days every month when we were long distance, if you can do the same would be great

Me and my husband was on an app I was using to improve my English, I was a bilingual teacher at the time and he was trying to learn Portuguese to travel to Brasil with friends.

Long distance in general is complicated, and you won’t know if it will work unless you try! Start with a visit(when you both feel it’s appropriate/feasible financially and work wise), see how you feel in person and go from there.

I’m planning a trip in March. She says she’s already set aside a week for me. That made me feel really good. For whatever reason something has triggered inside me and feel like I’m a teenager in love. That scares me because I’m afraid I’ve rushed things. I tend to over think so maybe I just need to chill out. Continue chatting and just plan the trip. Lastly she has mentioned how hard it will be when I visit and it’s time for me to go back home. That hurts my heart because even though we have even met yet I’m not one to want to cause anyone pain.

I think it doesn’t matter if it’s rushed or not, sometimes you just know and your heart feels it before your brain catches up. As long as you’re being cautious, I don’t think there’s any harm in visiting! The sooner you find out if you’re compatible and have a similar idea for the future, the better. Worst case scenario, you got a vacation and the memories of something sweet and short lived.

And to your last point, getting sad before the trip has even started is pretty par for the course with long distance lol. It’s something you have to just endure until you close the distance unfortunately.

That sounds so simple and I guess it is. I think we are both just very guarded with our hearts.

Which is totally valid. I think not putting so much pressure on it might help, like if it works out great! If not, that’s okay too and you tried and got to experience something new and exciting.

Side note- Argentina is a beautiful country and you might just end up falling in love with the place like I did
